The JSK’s have continued their learning about Life Cycles as they enjoyed this classic story today! Ask your child to talk about the various life cycles we’ve focused on this year (Apple, Tree, Pumpkin, Plant)!🐛🦋 @RosevillePSWind @tkmaccers

I love to see our JSK’s using the classroom materials to incorporate literacy & language into their play experiences! A group of friends have been using the environmental print labels and wooden letters to add words, signs and names to their creations! @RosevillePSWind @tkmaccers

Following Kindness and Bullying Prevention Week in January, these Roseville students wanted to make sure that Black History Month was also honoured in their school. They then took on the planning and execution of a Black History Month celebration. During the assembly, they highlighted some significant Black figures such as Elijah McCoy, Rosa Parks, Harriet Tubman, Martin Luther King Jr., Mary Ann Shadd Cary and Malcom X. They shared that they were a little bit nervous but were happy to help the other students at Roseville learn more about Black History. Way to go! #GECDSBGoodNews

The JSK’s have enjoyed these chameleon stories and made some great connections between them! They used the words “camouflage” & “blend in” to describe what they know about chameleons! Stay tuned for more stories about chameleons & colours this week🌈@RosevillePSWind @tkmaccers

Our Focused Learning Centre for Language- The JSK’s are working on printing the letter Zz and learned about its sound as they actively participate in our daily BEE for Reading lessons!🐝❤️📚 Ask your child to make the sound & accompanying action! @RosevillePSWind @tkmaccers

Our Artist Study for Focused Learning Centres- Vincent van Gogh🎨 The JSK’s are learning about van Gogh this week and are recreating “The Starry Night” by using either markers or paints! Ask them what they learned about this artist & his techniques!⭐️ @RosevillePSWind @tkmaccers

Our JSK’s are becoming very aware of their emotions & are able to articulate which Zone they are in during our Morning Check-ins😀 Ask your child to explain the Zones of Regulation and encourage them to refer to them to describe their feelings💚💙💛❤️ @RosevillePSWind @tkmaccers

The JSK’s have enjoyed this story about the Five Little Penguins during our Math Circles this week and made the connection to another familiar story! (🐵🐵🐵🐵🐵🛏️) If your child made Penguin stick puppets today, ask them to retell the story at home😀 @RosevillePSWind @tkmaccers

Shaving cream and vehicles make great sensory play. We also used our finger like a pencil to draw shapes and letters.
