It just hit me that exactly 4 weeks from today I’ll be the 1st person in my family to graduate from medical school. And 8 weeks from today, I’m moving across the country and then some to Hawaii for residency. Being in this moment feels so surreal.

As students are starting their first year of medical school, I thought I’d put together a 🧵of advice that helped me get through my first year, and things I wish I knew:

Dear August, I’m grateful and I’m hopeful. Greater things are yet to come and to be done. 🙌🏻

It wouldn’t be a night on call if I didn’t get lost in the hospital 🤣🤣

Something about seeing palm trees on the way into work just feels so right 🌴

Today is the first day for a lot of new doctors. First and foremost, I'd like to say congratulations. Today is the sum of 1000s of hrs of studying, working, and praying. You've earned every second of it. Enjoy it.
