26-year-old Kyle Clifford is being hunted by police. It’s a fast moving situation and there’s a lot we don’t know. But there is one thing that we DO know. And it’s depressingly, devastatingly familiar. Three woman are dead. They were killed in their home. A mum, she was 61, and her two girls, 25 and 28, both in their twenties - that decade when you’re working out who you want to be and where you want to go with your life. But for them, that’s now over. A woman is killed by a man every three days in the United Kingdom. That number has been remarkably consistent for the last twenty years. Women are also much more likely to be killed by someone they know - two thirds of them are killed by a current or former partner. “Domestic” – that word that somehow doesn’t feel adequate – because terror can also happen in the home. Remember the three women killed at home in Bushey were still alive when the emergency services got there. Yvette Cooper – the new Home Secretary – has said the killings are “truly shocking” – and she’s being kept fully updated on the case. During the campaign, she said that violence against women and girls will be treated as a national emergency under Labour. And less than a week into the job… three women killed at home. It certainly feels like an emergency.

#Worthing #Labour Council 24/25🎉🌹 If you're lucky, you get to work with a few people you like, respect & can learn from. I don't what I did to get this lucky, but leading this team is one of the best jobs I've ever had (& I really do love my other day job in public health!)❤️

The 7 year old boy who remained under the rubble for 5 hours has made it safely smiling. I see no one sharing. If he were dead, everyone would share! Share positivity... 1/2

The Labour Party is the natural political home for women's equality. It is great to see this policy against a backdrop of women (particularly BAME) being disproportionately affected through Covid and in low pay, unstable work.. #WomensEquality
Anneliese Dodds@AnnelieseDodds

No woman should be paid less for doing comparable work to a man, but the Tories put that at risk. Labour will protect a woman’s right to make an equal pay claim when their terms can be attributed to the same source. We are the party of women's equality.

Our inflation rate is 6.8%. In Spain, it's 2.3%. Here's some of how Spain did that: - Proper caps on energy prices - Lowered public transport costs - Taxed excess profits - Rent caps We don't need more interest rate hikes. We need to take on corporate power like Spain has.

Our political class are I’m convinced the final revenge of a bad BBC sitcom about a middle-class family which, having been axed following its poorly received pilot, became sentient and span out into its own extended universe, the cast of which has now collectively seized control.
