@Proud_Aboki The Nigeria Police Force is a joke. Nuhu Usman who is communicated to be in detention and visibly in handcuffs here still has his handsfree device on. Who's calling him now, or what song is he listening to.

BREAKING: A police officer identified as ASP Nuhu Usman, who is reportedly not a Muslim and allegedly used fake credentials, has been accused of killing 28-year-old Mene Ogidi in Delta State. Reports say the victim came to a motor park to collect a package sent to him. After a search allegedly revealed a gun and ammunition, nearby officers were called. Instead of taking him to the police station for proper investigation, he was reportedly shot on the spot despite already being restrained. A viral video circulating online shows the young man begging for his life moments before he was shot. The Nigeria Police Force has confirmed the incident, stating the officer violated police regulations and is currently in custody pending disciplinary action. The incident has sparked outrage, with many Nigerians questioning why a suspect who had already been arrested was killed instead of being taken for investigation.

Strong BAT critic here, but this is spot on Aviation College (NCAT Zaria): Split into 6 campuses, one per geopolitical zone (Zaria NW remains; SW in Akure, Ondo—not Ogun as claimed). Army Depot: Yes—new sites in Osogbo (Osun SW) + Abakaliki (Ebonyi SE); Zaria stays. Police Academy: Yes—new campus approved in Erinja, Ogun (main Wudil, Kano remains). These decentralize training nationwide per policy/2021 Act for efficiency not any anti-North rhetoric. By your logic should we say it's been anti-south since?

In less than 3 years in power. 1. He split the College of Aviation into 2, taking one to Ogun 2. He split the Nigerian Army Depot Zaria, taking part to Osun State. 3. He split the Nigerian Police Academy into 2, taking one to Ogun State. Next could be NDA. Sheikh Nura Usman blasts Tinubu on anti-north agenda.

@ADCVanguard_ If that is anti-north, that means the country hasn't been fair to the south all along. There's nothing bad having one each of these institutions in both regions.

She was in her final year at the university… and now, she is gone. My daughter was full of life—always cheerful, always bringing light into every room she entered. She had a way of making everyone smile. Among all my children, she stood out , brilliant, intelligent, and full of promise. The same child I once held gently in my arms at birth… today, I am laying her to rest. They say children are meant to bury their parents, not the other way around. But life has dealt me a different fate . I am burying my own daughter. Kosiso, my beloved child, rest in peace. Watch over us from heaven until we meet again 💞 — Osuofia

NO JUDGE HAS THE POWER TO ORDER A LAWYER TO KNEEL IN COURT The Nigerian Bar Association @NigBarAssoc is concerned about reports of an incident that occurred on Monday, 16 March 2026, at the Federal High Court, Abuja, involving Honourable Justice Mohammed Umar and a legal practitioner, Mr. Marshall Abubakar, who appeared as lead defence counsel to Mr. Omoyele Sowore. According to reports, the learned trial judge, in response to counsel raising his voice while addressing the court on the suitability of a hearing date, directed the lawyer to step out of the Bar and kneel down, alongside issuing threats of committal for contempt. The NBA views this development with utmost seriousness, given its implications for the dignity of the legal profession and the sanctity of the courtroom. The courtroom is a temple of justice, governed by law, procedure, and decorum. While judges are vested with the authority to maintain order and discipline in their courts, such authority must be exercised strictly within the bounds of the law and established judicial standards. The power to punish for contempt is well recognised; however, it is circumscribed by defined legal procedures designed to ensure fairness, objectivity, and respect for the rights and dignity of all persons appearing before the court. A judex directing a legal practitioner or indeed any person whatsoever to kneel in court is not a recognised judicial sanction under our laws and does not align with the standards of judicial conduct expected on the Bench. The dignity of the court must be preserved not only in outcome but also in process, and this includes the manner in which judicial authority is exercised. If a judge is of the view that a person has acted in a manner that is contemptuous of the court, the judge MUST follow the accepted way of conducting proceedings for such allegations. We reiterate that legal practitioners bear a corresponding duty to conduct themselves with restraint, professionalism, and respect for the court at all times. While lawyers are entitled, indeed obligated, to advocate firmly and fearlessly on behalf of their clients, such advocacy must always be exercised within the bounds of courtesy and decorum. Disagreements with the court, no matter how strongly felt, must be expressed through proper legal channels and not in a manner that disrupts proceedings or undermines the authority of the court. The legal profession thrives on a delicate but essential balance, one rooted in mutual respect between the Bar and the Bench. This relationship is fundamental to the administration of justice and must be jealously guarded. The NBA calls for calm and restraint on all sides and urges that any grievances arising from courtroom incidents be addressed through appropriate institutional and disciplinary mechanisms. Where necessary, the Association will engage with relevant authorities to ensure that the rule of law, professional standards, and judicial ethics are upheld. Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN President, Nigerian Bar Association

When Trump has to tell our President to go home and lead, you know the situation is critical. 🇳🇬 Maiduguri is in mourning, families are shattered, and yet the "State Visit" in London continues. Trump is right about one thing: this is a NATIONAL EMERGENCY. Tinubu, get on the plane. Now. ✈️💔 (PS: Seeing this Truth Social screenshot everywhere tonight. If it's real, the pressure is officially on. If not, the sentiment remains: LEAD FROM HOME.)

Something funny reportedly happened in Anambra State today. A popular native doctor, John Paul Ezenagu, also known as Mmuo Mmili Afulu Anya, was recently arrested by the Udogachi Security Team. After his arrest, he allegedly told the operatives that he serves Nne Nwanyi Mmiri (Queen of the Coast), whom he claimed is very active. He reportedly promised that once he performed his incantations, the Queen of the Coast would appear in the form of a crocodile and respond to his prayers. When they got to his house, he led the team to a nearby stream where he usually performs sacrifices. They waited for him to call on the Queen of the Coast who, according to him, transforms into a crocodile and appears. However, nothing happened. He began making mysterious calls and incantations, but after a long time there was still no sign of a crocodile. He then said he needed his bell and was allowed to fetch it himself. He continued calling, but when nothing appeared, his tone reportedly changed from begging to shouting, and eventually crying. Some observers joked that the Queen of the Coast may have fled immediately she saw the security operatives. In the end, the native doctor reportedly had no option but to start begging the security people and Anambra state governor, as the spirit he claimed to serve did not appear. Courtesy - Gistlover

PRESS STATEMENT In the last 24 hours, social media has exploded over my interview with Mehdi Hassan, albeit with varied opinions. Let me set the record straight. When I signed on to the privileged job granted to me by Mr. President, I was well aware of its implications. Selling ice cream, looking fine, and seeking the praises of men were never part of it. Some of the fiercest critics of my interview can not even stand local TV anchors. But the task of promoting and defending the President and his administration is what I do with ease and joy. I am prepared to appear before any interviewer, anywhere in the world, any day and at any time, to defend this government and its policies. I have never, and will never, subscribe to ducking or dodging interviews on matters that concern promoting and defending the administration I was appointed to serve. It is the least of what is required of me. Head to Head contacted me requesting an interview, stating that they wanted to challenge our government on security, the economy, and corruption. Nowhere in our almost six months of communication did they mention that they were going to challenge my past. If that had been their plan, ethically and professionally, they were supposed to inform me so I could prepare my response. But that’s okay, ethically, that is on them, not on me. I refused to swallow the pill of Mehdi’s “opposition research-style journalism,” and even today, if you carefully compare what he read as quotes from organisations and groups, you will see that many were inaccurate and some were outright fake news. But I will leave that for another day. As for what I said about President Tinubu in the past, I am glad those were things I said when I was in the opposition saddle with such zeal. It is all politics. Half of Donald Trump’s cabinet is made up of people who once spoke against him, and quite a number of people in our own cabinet also spoke against President Tinubu in the past. Those things do not bother him if you care to know. The majority of the naysayers are members of the opposition and their sympathisers. It does not bother me one bit. Their temporary excitement over the interview has not lasted and will not last, because it does not take away their obvious problem of lack of vision, mission in conducting and managing a political party; yet they seek to manage Nigeria. Clearly they have no path to victory and no alternative policies or program for the Nigerian people. And if they say they do, they can as well go to head to head and be interrogated on that; as the saying in Hausa goes “Ga fili Ga doki” I conclude by thanking the many Nigerians and non-Nigerians who sent in their commendations over my brave defence of our government in an interview where the anchor would hardly let you answer a question unless it suited his narrative. I still have admiration and respect for Mehdi Hassan as arguably the best debater on the planet. I look forward to part two of the Head to Head interview, and I am glad that by then questions about my past will no longer be news so that we can focus on our administration’s policies, programs and what we have achieved so far. Stay tuned. – D.H Bwala Special Adviser to President on Media and Policy Communication (State House) Saturday March 7, 2026 NB: The additional photos credited to me in lieu of a reminder

If the Nigerian Federation can institute a diaspora impact bond system in which the Nigerian diaspora contributes $10 a month toward infrastructure, health, and education, billions of dollars will flow in. But.… No one trusts the governments, not even those with flags on their bio. Diaspora want to help, but they want a structure and system that delivers Everyone says they love the nation, but what that love is their brother's ability to loot oil money But you will argue.

Senate Seeks Mandatory Anti-Venom Stocking in Hospitals Nationwide The Senate has called on governments at all levels to urgently address gaps in emergency healthcare by mandating the availability of minimum stocks of anti-venom and other critical antidotes in hospitals across Nigeria, particularly in high-risk areas. The resolution followed a point of order raised by Senator Idiat Adebule (Lagos West), who drew attention to the death of a young Nigerian, Ifunaya Nwangene, from a snakebite. Adebule lamented the shortage of anti-venom in many medical facilities, noting that victims are often forced to move from one hospital to another in desperate search of treatment. Lawmakers overwhelmingly backed the proposal, urging that compliance with minimum anti-venom and antidote stock requirements be made a condition for the licensing of new hospitals and the renewal of existing licences. Supporting the motion, Senator Sunday Karimi (Kogi West) described the incident as tragic, especially as the victim reportedly reached a health facility early but could not access the required treatment. While commiserating with the bereaved family, he stressed the need for proactive measures to prevent similar occurrences. Senator Ekong Sampson (Akwa Ibom South) said the development underscored the urgency of implementing healthcare policies that address avoidable deaths, insisting that Nigeria must strengthen systems that guarantee timely emergency response. Also contributing, Senator Titus Zam (Benue North-West) highlighted the plight of rural dwellers, who often travel long distances to access healthcare, despite the government’s responsibility to ensure equitable medical services. Senator Anthony Ani (Ebonyi South) emphasised the need for increased awareness among both the public and government officials, noting that beyond stocking anti-venom, trained personnel must also be available to administer treatment properly. In his remarks, Senate President Godswill Akpabio condoled with the family of the deceased and Nigerians at large, describing the incident as deeply saddening. He led the chamber in a minute of silence in honour of the late Ifunaya Nwangene.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has signed the Electricity Bill into law, effectively removing electricity from the Exclusive Legislative List and transferring significant powers over electricity generation, transmission, and distribution to the states. In simple terms, states can now: Generate, transmit, and distribute electricity independently Establish state electricity markets and regulators License private investors without waiting for the federal government This is a major step toward decentralization, improved power supply, and faster industrial growth—especially for states ready to act. A big policy shift. Now the real test is which governors will move beyond politics and actually light up their states.
