The operation reportedly forced the terrorists to flee under sustained military pressure. It wouldn't be right for me, as a builder in the Nigerian and African tech space, to remain silent about everything happening. I'm aware that some people in this community may have been affected by the recent token dump and the Ponzi scheme that reportedly crashed. First, let's be clear: Ponzi schemes are not the same as cryptocurrency. Another truth we need to accept is this: A memecoin is not automatically valuable. Its long-term value depends on what is built around it, the team's commitment, and the strength of its community. As painful as this situation is, incidents like this can happen in crypto. An exploit, attack, or technical mistake is not automatically the same as a rug pull. A rug pull is an intentional act of deception. From the information available so far, if the reports are accurate, this appears to have been an attack rather than an intentional exit. If that's the case, it's a reminder that even honest teams can face serious setbacks. This should also be a lesson for every developer and founder. Be intentional about the platforms and infrastructure you choose for token launches, token burns, liquidity management, and other critical operations. Security should never be an afterthought. And sometimes, the greatest risk isn't the technology—it's the people. Choose your team carefully. Trust should be earned, not assumed. My sincere sympathy goes to everyone who lost money in this incident. At the same time, this reinforces something I've always believed: Don't ask people to invest only in promises.
