Allar is going in that range in fantasy bc of how weak overall this draft is in skill position players

Drafting a QB in the third round will never prevent a NFL team from taking a QB in the first round the next year.

If you were hoping the Steelers were going to draft a QB in 2027, I hate to tell you that drafting Drew Allar likely means they more than likely won't be drafting another early round QB next spring IMO. I don't think you draft a developmental QB like Allar with the expectation of him proving himself as an NFL starter in Year 1. I think he's the type of guy you draft, stash & develop for a year behind a veteran, then give him his chance in Year 2. Now, obviously that plan could change depending on what happens this year, but at this point I wouldn't put too high of a percentage on PIT drafting a RD1 QB next year, for better or for worse.

@ASaunders_PGH One reason for this though is injuries. Darnell Washington and Payton Wilson fell due to injuries and that’s one thing consensus boards don’t often take into account. Sometimes that due to lack of information. We saw that this year with Jermod McCoy.

The #Steelers first three draft classes under Omar Khan were very well regarded, mostly because of his ability to move around the board to find value while meeting the team's needs.
That all went out the window in 2026, as the team left a ton of value on the table in an underwhelming draft class.

B-Mac called Omar unprepared here. He's not wrong. Pittsburgh is hosting the draft, could have inspired their fanbase and didn't rise to the occasion. Trading back at that point and taking Omar Cooper rather than a project tackle would have been a better move. #Steelers

Say Broderick Jones is good to go for the 2026 season, could we see Troy Fautanu move to LG? Fautanu played a few games at the LG position at Washington - I don’t think it’s far fetched to believe McCarthy & staff are not going to try a Jones/Fautanu/Frazier/McCormick/Iheanacher lineup. The position versatility with this core makes this offseason very interesting.

@PittsburghSport That’s not even what I’m saying. You said they took more time on the clock. And the Pittsburgh media has been horrible. If they were looking hard to move out they would have. The back half the first round is weak and the tackle class is bad after Lomu
