World Book Week kicked off yesterday with teachers, children & parents coming together to share stories. Mrs Hooft has been chatting with Angellica Bell, television presenter & children's author, about the fantastic activities planned for Roundwood Primary’s celebrations.
As the festive season approaches, we would like to take this opportunity to wish you & your family a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
May your Christmas be filled with warmth, laughter, and love, and may the New Year bring health, happiness, and success to your family.
Thank you to those who attended our Remembrance Service this morning. In forest school our Nursery children also learned about the importance of Remembrance day. They made a cross together and decorated rock poppies to display at the foot of the cross.
Year 1 to Year 6 have been named after famous musicians! This year, the School Council took on the important task of helping to choose the musicians, and each class was involved in designing a creative class sign.
We will be marking Remembrance Day in school on Monday 11 November. If the weather is dry, we would like to invite family members to join us for a short service. Please arrive by 10.40am and remember you will need to park off site.
Thank you all for your extremely kind donations on World Mental Health Day. A variety of books have been purchased to support a range of topics that support good mental health from managing worries to children's rights. We will continue to add to this collection.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to our non-uniform day in support of World Mental Health Day last week! We’re thrilled to announce that we raised an incredible £467. This generous donation will go toward purchasing books for each age group that promote good mental health.
This morning we delivered just over 219kg of donations to the @Stalbansdistfb St Albans and District Foodbank. A huge thank you to everyone that donated items. Your generosity makes a real difference!

At Roundwood Primary, we are incredibly proud of our support staff. They are not only brilliant & caring but also go above and beyond in their roles, making a real difference in the lives of our children. We are truly grateful for everything they do.
On Monday KS1 had a special visit, Shaunii and her dog Ida from @guidedogs visited the children to kick start their science unit on senses. The children were fantastic, very inquisitive and Ida enjoyed all the attention from the children and adults alike.
Roundwood & @relish_food will be hosting a @macmillancancer coffee morning on Friday 4th October at 8.40am. All parents, carers, younger siblings & grandparents are welcome! We look forward to welcoming you all on the day & every penny we raise will go to this great cause.

Today, classrooms have been filled with children proudly showcasing their hair transformations, we've had colourful spikes, elaborate braids, wigs, ribbons & glitter. Staff have also joined in with the fun. What a fantastic effort made by all those that took part – well done!!
Y3 and Y4 have been creative making tie-dye bags with sewing skills on full display. Thanks to the volunteers who came in (and we hope the dye has come off the teachers’ hands by now!)
