@RudisRowley Completely disagree. It makes a takedown more valuable than a reversal. It has made the product better, not worse.
It hasn’t changed stalling whatsoever. Refs refusing to call blatant stalling is the problem.

The only upside to the 3pt takedown is keeping a turned wrestler alive mathematically. That’s it. It doesn’t create more scoring or action. It just gives the guy leading 4-2 more room to stall. Then people wonder why stalling is everywhere. Dumbest change ever!

@JoshMLowe Great round out of the Buckeyes. Paddy & Fishback earn MFFs for 7th. Bouzakis, Cannon, Kharchla, Geog, & Feldman all win in conso semis. Granted they won't catch PSU, but they are only 11pts behind them and 19 ahead of Nebraska.

Dake vs Kadiev was fun. Dake looked really solid against a great Russian. Kadiev was able to get to legs pretty consistently and finish. Dake gave himself quite a few opportunities to score. Was 5-4 in the 2nd before Kadiev got a few scores to put it out of reach.

@Roush149 @thejmoneykearns @handsometuesda9 Not defending TnT but Zalesky won those three his first years after Gable retired. With Gables wrestlers. Brands had to build it back up. That and Zalesky never had to compete with this PSU.

TnT did great things at Iowa, brought Iowa wrestling back to where it should be after Zalesky. However, the sport has evolved and they haven’t. If OKST can push John F’n Smith out, there’s 0 reason Iowa needs to tread water with TnT. It’s been time for a while. Need to start new.

@adamtirapelle @CPyles8 With that said, 1 second is TOUGH in real time and full speed, they’ll get it wrong sometimes, but with review it should not be difficult to decide. Err on the side of awarding pts and leaving it up to the coaches to challenge if they think it wasn’t a full second. 👍

@adamtirapelle @CPyles8 100% agree & I think 1 sec should be the criteria. Pretty much everyone agrees that Arnold had 3 tonight. I slowed that down to 0.25 speed & he was in TD criteria for basically 1 second exactly. If I can do that sitting on my couch, the officials should be able to with review.

I understand the reaction time debate for takedowns & generally agree we should err on the side of awarding pts. but I also think a takedown should require some sort of control. It’s tough. Did Ayala have 2 takedowns if we don’t care about reaction time? @CPyles8 @adamtirapelle
