I think majoring in economics less so teaches you facts about the world so much as it teaches you a way of thinking and speaking that is extremely grating to coexist with. i know this because it happened to me. I have an econ degree and it made me unbearable.

I honestly can't think of a single negative drawback of data centers. They consume barely any water, produce no air or water pollution, and generate very little traffic, all while pumping the local government with ungodly amounts of tax revenue.

Why are Utahns mad? This data center will use more than 2x of the ENTIRE STATE’S current power usage and will be powered entirely by natural gas. It will be placed in the desert which due to topography has extremely limited water and (already) the worst air quality in the USA.

There's a lot to come in the following months, but you can file a protest against the facility's water rights change application before midnight tonight. As the only candidate calling for a national moratorium on data centers because of situations like this, we need your help to prevent Trump and his friends Governor Cox, President Adams, and Speaker Schultz from lining the pockets of wannabe billionaire Kevin O'Leary with tax breaks that come out of our wallets and pollution that will make our state unlivable. 1. The data center's "own power source" will be the largest natural gas facility in the country, expected to increase Utah's greenhouse gas emissions by 50% *alone* 2. You can't wish natural gas into existence. They will have to buy it on the market, which will increase prices.
