My strategy for Misty's gym badge is sending a trained Pidgeotto out and spam sand attack against Starmie until the Pidgeotto faints or Starmie is as blind as a bat. Then in comes Pikachu or a grass mon for clean up.

I was also majorly into learning about the history of the Titanic at that age. Granted, it had only been a few years since the wreck site had been discovered at that point, but there were all sorts of great books filled with photos that I'd pour over in my free time in class.

I started teaching 4th graders graphic design at an afterschool program, and this one kid does not engage with any of the material, but he comes into class and furiously googles the Titanic for an hour every week
