I'm not going to close my Twitter account immediately, but I won't be posting or giving likes on here any more. Thanks to anyone who has given me follows, likes or reposts. After 15 years of Twitter I hope to see you on the other side.

I've been thinking of leaving Twitter (I still can't call it X) for some time. I've had a BlueSky and Mastodon account for 18 months and a large number of the people I know here are on one or both of those platforms. @NellytheWillow

Zennor Quoit - the exterior stones are believed to have been for resting dead bodies against for the flesh to be devoured by birds before burial. The chamber dates to between 2500 and 1500bce and is one of 8 remaining quoits on the W Penwith moors #Cornwall #StandingStoneSunday

The last remnant of a sign for Lipton's Tea sandwiched between two houses. Lipton's Tea If you want the best tea go to the firm that grows it. #ghostsign

It seems every pub i walk in to has half the tables reserved. What nonsense is this? Is this the new norm in London (or the UK)? No wonder the pub industry is on its knees.

Lanyon Quoit - originally dating to about 3000bce. After collapsing during a storm in 1815 it was reconstructed in 1824 when the uprights were shortened and squared off. It now has a different alignment, is shorter than the original and is missing one of the uprights.

This is the HQ of Avis Capital. It claims to be one of the largest companies in the UK, with £58bn in assets and 31% returns promised to investors. Except it's all a lie. Here's how regulatory failures are letting international fraudsters create massive fake UK companies.

@NellytheWillow Well, the scaffolding has come down and part of the sign is back (in a different position), but for some reason they've only replaced the top half of the sign. The bottom half which has the all-important 'S' postal district has gone.

Lark Hall Rise S (corner of Cubitt Terrace) - one of the last two 'S' postal district street signs left in London has been removed from this wall during the redecoration of the building in December 2024. It would have been to the right of the blue section of ladder.
