THE #NFL REFS STRIKE AGAIN… THE #CHARGERS DEFENSE WAS JUST CALLED FOR A ROUGHING THE PASSER PENALTY FOR PLAYING FOOTBALL. LA’s defense just had a huge stop on third down & the refs decided to throw a flag for this… This is not a great call. Very soft.

The Arcane Texas Fact of the Day: In the 1840s, when German settlers were carving New Braunfels and Fredericksburg out of the Hill Country, Christmas Eve was the big event, not Christmas Day. Families called it Heiligabend. The children were hustled off to church while the parents secretly set up a small fir or cedar tree in the parlor, trimmed with candles, cookies, nuts, and maybe a precious orange or two. When the family came home, a bell was rung to signal that the Christkind had just visited. Only then were the doors opened and the children allowed to rush in to see the tree for the first time, shining in the dark room. One tradition credits John O. Meusebach, the German nobleman who led the Fredericksburg colony, with bringing the Christmas tree to Texas before it was even fashionable in England. Long before department stores and pre-lit plastic evergreens, Hill Country families were hauling in whatever cedar or pine they could find, balancing wax candles on the branches and, I reckon, hoping the whole affair didn’t turn into a very festive house fire. Fredericksburg also kept some customs most Texans never hear about. For more than a century, families observed Zweite Weihnachten – “Second Christmas” – on December 26, a quieter follow-up holiday for more visiting and eating after the big blow-out on the 24th. Many German-Texan families kept their trees up until January 6, Epiphany, and some homes had both an Advent wreath on the table and a wooden Christmas pyramid with little carved figures turning in the rising heat of candles. In other words, Hill Country folks were stretching Christmas into a season long before the stores caught on. Shown here: A saloon interior with bartender and customer near table with display of Christmas candy in Fredericksburg circa 1910. On the right is table of boxed candy under a banner that reads: "Headquarters for Christmas Candies.'' Courtesy (UTSA Libraries Special Digital Collections)

Wave= classic C3 beater You can see the Steelers check the coverage once the Vikings go condensed but they still turn Jefferson loose on the deep over. Pittsburgh is giving up too many explosives to start the season, most of them coming on similar concepts.

@DezBryant This infuriated me. When you have seen a family member at their most vulnerable, like I have, they already feel a loss of dignity and for some girl to think this is funny for social clout? I felt rage when I saw this. Nothing cute about this
