President Kagame alongside His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco and David Lappartient, @UCI_cycling President, attended the Men Elite Road Race, the final race of the 2025 UCI Road World Championships. #Kigali2025 was the first UCI World Championship to be held in Africa, with the city’s hilly terrain presenting riders with the most challenging edition yet of the road race, tackling over 5,400 metres of elevation over 267.5km.

President Kagame awarded the gold medal to reigning @UCI_cycling World Champion, Tadej Pogačar of Slovenia, at the monumental #Kigali2025 finale. President Kagame also congratulated Silver medalist Remco Evenepoel and Bronze winner Ben Healy.

"I had been here six years, I think, doing other things for my country. I accepted to be president. Now, from that time, it's like I committed an offense, accepting to be president. Every day I'm being asked, when are you leaving? When are you going? These people who made me president are telling me they still want me to be president. Somebody else somewhere says, no, no, no, you are here too long. But these guys who even ask these questions, who tell me that even if they wanted, they cannot be the president of Rwanda because they don't belong here. And the people of this country, who matter to me more than anybody, anywhere else, keep saying, we want you here, I've been asking them too; even if I am agreeing to be president, they should not forget to be working very hard to identify people who will follow in my footpath. Every day I remind them now, but I think for them, they are operating like, as long as he has some breath in him, let's squeeze every bit of it. And I've been telling them, no, I don't have to stay here doing, so, but I know for sure somebody will be found sooner than later if you don't count the many years I've been around going forward." This Sunday in Kibugabuga, President Kagame and First Lady Jeannette Kagame hosted several artists who reside in Karumuna, fulfilling a promise he made a week ago during the RPF Presidential rally in Bugesera. The President gifted each of the artists a cow.
