@MEAIndia @DrSJaishankar @passportsevamea @IndianDiplomacy @SecretaryCPVOIA Humble Request for Approval of Passport with Correct Date of Birth – Senior Citizen Case I, Pankaj Bhoir, son of Mr. Chandrakant Chintaman Bhoir (Passport File No. BO4065836627225), humbly wish to bring to your kind attention a long-pending and extremely distressing issue regarding my father’s passport application. My father will be turning 70 years of age this year, and over the past few months I have accompanied him to Vashi and Thane PSK, Navi Mumbai, on at least five occasions, in good faith and with full cooperation, to resolve discrepancies arising from his old passport issued in 1975. Unfortunately, the old passport—being handwritten—contains multiple clerical and spelling errors, which were clearly committed at the time of issuance. While we fully understand procedural requirements, the lack of guidance and support in resolving these legacy errors has caused immense hardship, especially to a senior citizen. The most serious issue is the incorrect Date of Birth mentioned in the old passport. Despite submitting all valid and consistent supporting documents, we were advised during our last visit at Thane PSK to either: 1. Change all other documents (Aadhaar, PAN, etc.) to match the incorrect date of birth, or 2. Not apply for a passport at all This advice was extremely disheartening and demoralizing, especially for a senior citizen who has patiently followed every instruction over multiple visits. It is neither practical nor reasonable to expect correction of all valid documents to match an incorrect entry made decades ago. Below are the clear discrepancies observed in the old passport: Mistake 1: Father’s name written as “Chintraman” ✔ Correct name: Chintaman (Interestingly, the correct spelling appears on Page 5 of the same passport) Grandfathers name written: Sudnam Correct name: Sudam Mistake 2: Address mentioned as “Nava Kolaba” ✔ Correct names: Nhava and Colaba Mistake 3 (Most Critical): Date of Birth mentioned as 05 October 1952 ✔ Correct Date of Birth: 11 August 1956 (This correct date is consistently reflected in all current official documents) Given the numerous spelling errors in the old passport, it is highly evident that the Date of Birth entry is also a clerical mistake rather than a factual one. I respectfully submit that there appears to be a procedural gap in handling such legacy passport cases, especially for senior citizens. Bluntly advising elderly applicants to cancel their application is not only discourteous but also deeply discouraging. My father’s final appointment is scheduled for 11 February 2026, and I sincerely hope that this matter is reviewed compassionately and judiciously. It is my heartfelt wish to take my father abroad during his golden years, something he has looked forward to all his life. I humbly request the concerned authorities to kindly examine this case and approve my father’s passport with correct and genuine credentials, supported by valid documents. Thank you for your time and consideration. I remain hopeful of a positive and humane resolution. Yours sincerely, Pankaj Bhoir Son of Chandrakant Chintaman Bhoir (Images of old passport highlighting errors attached)

@occasionalyfuny The application is held up due to police report, and the same is under review at RPO Mumbai. You shall get update once the police report is reviewed.
