HUNDREDS of results.
Maps. Encyclopedias. Travelogues. Government documents. Military reports. Trade agreements. All refer to an empire called Tartaria—sometimes called "Great Tartary"—that stretched from Eastern Europe to the Pacific Ocean and encompassed more land than any other empire in recorded history.
The 1771 Encyclopaedia Britannica—the most prestigious reference work in the English-speaking world—contains a COMPLETE entry on Tartary. She describes it as the largest empire on Earth. She describes its cities, its population, its government, and its trade routes.
By the 1880s, this entry had vanished.
Not updated. Not revised. GONE.
An empire that encompassed a third of the Earth's landmass was simply erased from the most prestigious reference work ever published.
How do you erase an empire?
You burn the libraries. You rewrite the encyclopedias. You redraw the maps. You rename the cities. You replace the population. You change the language. And you ensure that the next generation of children never hears the word.
It took about 100 years.
By 1900, "Tartaria" had become "Russia," "China," "Central Asia," and a dozen other names. The people were renamed. The culture was erased. The technology was confiscated. The buildings were seized.
But they forgot the old books.
The books published BEFORE their complete annihilation. The ones stored in university archives and private collections. The ones that have now been digitized and uploaded to the internet.
You can delete an entry in Google Maps. You can edit a Wikipedia page. But you can't reprint a book from 1771.
The evidence is there. It has always been there. You just have to know what to look for.
