@steve_lowthian @slbsn @himanshu0370 Its because its more complicated than simply posting a loss over £105m, theres certain losses that get written back or allowed so that number for the loss decreases with that in mind.

@slbsn @himanshu0370 Is that because PSR is no longer and the £105m figure doesn’t exist in the SCR rules

@brumby_fan The issue is what the super rugby clubs can offer compared to these french clubs and also nrl. I know of one of the kids in that list, difference was double $, accomodation/car, and then the big one was training fulltime where dev squads only do something like 2 sessions a week.

The Rugby Philosopher@rugbyphilosophy·
I’ve got a theory. The Hurricanes are most people’s second favourite Super Rugby team. And I think it comes down to a few things. First, they just don’t have real beef with anyone. - The Crusaders have won for so long that everyone outside Christchurch hates them. - The Blues carry Auckland energy. Everyone south of them has an issue with it. - The Chiefs have little brother beef with everyone else. - The Highlanders are genuienly liked, but their brand of rugby is not super attractive. That leaves the Hurricanes. Everyone's second favourite team. The Hurricanes have always just played good footy. Fast. Agile. Ball in hand. They back their backs, they move teams around, they score amazing tries. That’s been their identity for years. The have a history of special players. Players with an * next to their name. Players who aren't only good, or great, but speical. That little secret sauce. That little something-something. That touch of class. The grace of Cullen. The power of Lomu. The nouce of Umaga. The wrecker of Nonu. The class of Barrett. The chat of Coles. The destroyer of Collins. That’s not just a list of great players, that’s a list of players people remember. Players you want to watch. Players you’d happily tune in for even if your team isn’t involved. Players who've left a unique mark on the game. Every competition has that team. The one everyone’s quietly loves. The one that plays good rugby, has great players, and doesn’t come with baggage. So I’m curious. Who’s your second favourite team in Super Rugby?

Dave Rennie just needs to pick most of the Hurricanes players and call it a day. Best team in Super Rugby, obliterating opponents week-in, week-out. No brainer.

@OMG_ITS_NDABA @ChalynRugby Take a leaf out of your book, learn to read and interpret, funny how you jump to what i’m saying is one conclusion and play the words when its not - what i’m saying is in the graphic you presented, they are just columns of numbers without any headings above to say what is what

@Rtaylor91 @ChalynRugby “It’s literally just numbers” and it’s literally points, tries, yellow cards, minutes played. All the things people consider when calling one rugby player better than the other. Funny how stats no longer matter when they don’t look rosy for All Blacks.

Both are absolute legends and have respect of the whole rugby community. Apart from the stats that Ben mentioned here, Beauden Barrett is the only player in the world who have won all of, Rugby World Cup TRC or a Six Nations (TRC) Player of the year (2x) Franchise rugby Championship ( Super Rugby ) Try of the year World Rugby Dream Team of the year (2021) Over 100 caps. Says a story. #Rugby #Allblacks #Springboks

The thing is Handre Pollard can’t hold a candle to Beauden Barrett as a player. Tries, try assists, line breaks, defence, try savers, Barrett takes the entire cake. This is at Test level. It’s not even close. Pollard became a great goal kicker and that’s all there is.

@OMG_ITS_NDABA @ChalynRugby You show a teams stats to prove a point, I cbf’d looking up but how did he go personally? You also can’t judge “did sweet nothing” on a teams stats, for example your springboks aren’t the best team in the world and winning titles due to the existence of just 1 individual player

@slbsn @martynziegler Can understand the clubs waiting to see the outcome first. A “what if” but what if the findings by new ownership were just a false alarm, also likely wanted to see how it was treated after their own cases which is also understandable.

@ChalynRugby As far as domestic rugby goes, Beaudy only has Super Rugby credentials. As local as it gets. Unproven overseas. Handre Pollard has won Top 14, Challenge Cup and been to Premiership finals. BB's club accolades start and end in New Zealand.

@roscobigfulla @ChalynRugby Imo its a huge loss for us that Jacomb is going but also don’t blame him, i’d assume its driven by people externally wanting dmac playing at 10 because of all blacks.

#Opinion Maybe this shift l Josh Jacomb at 10 and Damien McKenzie at 15 is exactly what the All Blacks coaching group is pushing toward. And honestly, there’s a lot to like about it. First, it puts real trust in a young playmaker. Jacomb gets the keys early, and he has the potential to grow into a long-term 10 option post-2027 alongside Ruben Love. That’s valuable development time you can’t manufacture later. Second, it brings clarity around McKenzie’s role. Realistically, he’s not going to be the starting 10 for the All Blacks unless there’s an injury crisis especially with Richie Mo’unga returning and Beauden Barrett still firmly in the picture for 2027. His best contribution is at 15, where his vision, counterattack, and goal-kicking become even more valuable. If Mo’unga hits top form, he can own the 10 jersey, with McKenzie or Barrett at 15. If Barrett continues his form and starts at 10, then McKenzie slots perfectly at 15 as a reliable goal-kicker, while Mo’unga provides elite impact off the bench. Either way, it’s a win-win. Having three world-class playmakers in your 23 is a luxury most teams never get. The All Blacks can and should lean into that flexibility. Then there’s Ruben Love, who will also be in the mix for the 15 jersey this cycle. That makes McKenzie’s role even clearer focus on winning that 15 spot, while Barrett and Mo’unga battle it out at 10. In my opinion McKenzie should never be wearing 10 for Chiefs again. Let Jacomb run the team in high-pressure games and accelerate his development. Meanwhile, McKenzie can fully commit to mastering 15 the role he’s most likely to play for the All Blacks. This way, you’re not just preparing your best players for their optimal positions you’re also building the next generation. It’s about getting meaningful minutes into the right players now, so the All Blacks are ready to transition smoothly post-2027. #Allblacks #Rugby

@QuadeCooper Whilst what you propose has merit, I think it would create alot of penalty stoppages as like some accidental offsides its a natural reaction or instinct to pick up the pill, whilst intention is to create fatigue it could potentially swing that other way too.

I’ve been watching a lot of Rugby lately, and it got me thinking about how we could speed the game up and open it up a bit more. One idea I had, hear me out. To encourage more offloads and reduce the number of rucks, what if when a team knocks the ball on, they’re not allowed to touch it next which currently results in a scrum. If they do, it’s a long arm penalty. That gives the opposition guaranteed first rights to the ball. They can pick it up and play immediately with a backward pass, or if they want to slow it down, it could work similar to an AFL mark and you have 10 seconds to resume play or it’s a turn over again. If you step off the mark, you’re live and can be tackled. The goal is simple, reward teams that want to play fast, create more chaos, and reduce stoppages? Questions - would this ruin our beautiful game and allow less skilled players to play (which is what most people want inclusivity) Would it make it slower? Faster? There’s nothing wrong with our game?

@bluemaccaEFC @premierleague They didn't get a points deduction because they didn't break psr rules. This was stated in the independent judges written conclusion. I would like a deep dive report into the other 50 clubs who have played in the pl to see how many of them have failed to declare such payments
