@drluzborrell I think they find out about Gabriel’s bigamy and use it to get the shares back. Can’t remember how many Brossard has but would it take the DLRs over 50%? 🤔

My theory for what's going to happen this week: Fina decides to go back to Argentina either tomorrow or later in the week. We get angst as she packs and says bye, then she leaves for the airport. Marta comes here ⏬ (where is this?) and is sad in the dark, probably drinking because Fina left. Then Fina appears, because she couldn't get on the plane... and we get our real reconciliation

Ok I didn’t think I needed to clarify this, but apparently I do. I completely empathise with Fina and understand the horrible situation she’s been in and is in now. I understand that Fina is traumatised and not acting like herself. I understand that she came back with whatever plan she had, saw Marta again, and realised she still couldn’t let her go. I don’t care about Bianca. Whether she loved her or not, whether they lived together or not, painful as it is, I can understand it because of where Fina believed her life was. And I hate it, but I even understand the tragedy of Fina thinking she could come back, close this chapter, and leave again. I hate how emotionally cold she’s being with Marta at times, but I can still understand why. What I can’t understand is the number of people acting like the lies to Marta are insignificant and will be put right by giving her time. Marta has given herself back to Fina completely. Emotionally, physically, domestically. They are rebuilding a life together, sleeping together, planning a future together, living like wives again, and Marta is doing all of this without having the full truth about the reality she’s in. That is the part that makes me feel sick. Not because Fina is evil or malicious. Not because I think she wants to hurt Marta. But because Marta is once again being denied the ability to make an informed choice about her own life and relationship. Marta hasn’t consented to being the other woman, she doesn’t know that she is. That’s why this feels so upsetting to me. Not because love disappeared, but because honesty and agency did. We can empathise deeply with Fina’s trauma and fear while still acknowledging the impact these lies have on Marta, and the questions they pose about consent. Those things are not mutually exclusive

@amgirl01 It’s such an implausible storyline. The person principled enough to insist on calling the cops after killing a man (I accept they didn’t) & roasting Tasio time & again is cheating 5 seconds after eye contact with an ex.

Francesca Albanese, UN Special Rapporteur oPt
#WhenTheWorldSleeps Palestine stands as the moral compass of our time. Exposing Apartheid and its crimes, their root causes and implications, is necessary to ensure the world "wake up" and work together to overcome it. Together we can and we will.
Bookshop, NY@Paysferemart

When the World Sleeps: Stories, Words, and Wounds of Palestine by Francesca Albanese The first woman to serve as United Nations Special Rapporteur for the Occupied Palestinian Territory conveys the spirit of a people through 10 unforgettable stories of resilience and humanity. Francesca Albanese is the most lucid voice against Israel’s apartheid policies in Gaza and the West Bank, a voice that has been heard around the world when it comes to speaking the truth about the Palestinian genocide. In the wake of October 7, 2023, and Israel’s retaliatory war, the renowned Italian jurist has become a lightning rod for her staunch defense of human rights.  Reflecting on her years living in Jerusalem and her personal and professional journey toward understanding the Palestinian struggle, Albanese pays tribute to 10 people whose profoundly affecting stories opened her eyes, from Hind Rajab, a young Palestinian girl killed by Israeli forces, to the remarkable Jewish scholars who acted as Albanese’s mentors: forensic architect Eyal Weizman, trauma expert Gabor Maté, and Holocaust historian Alon Confino. When the World Sleeps is a courageous testimony of the harsh reality that Palestinians face. It raises critical questions about the past, present, and future of Palestine: What are the consequences of the occupation? Where is a refugee’s home? In what conditions do Palestinians live? With the uncertain end of the war, will there be a Palestinian state? Will Palestinians have the right to self-determination, and will they be able to live in peace, free at last from the coercion of Israel? @slappepolsen That’s a long list. Have you ever watched the movie Outbreak? It’s one of my faves and is the only reason I’d ever heard of the Hanta virus until now. Good to know there are milder strains!

as someone who works close to the field that researchers this: seeing “next pandemic” takes already, sigh. serious virus, yes. heartbroken for those affected, yes. pandemic threat, probably not. the dutch thing about this is mostly jurisdiction and its passengers.
Pop Base@PopBase

Three passengers suspected to have the hantavirus were escorted off of the MV Hondius and then transported on an evacuation flight to the Netherlands. The WHO states that the overall public health risk remains low.
