Friends - April 2nd, 2006 cancer took you from us. You were just 64 years old. You raised 5 children, you were the most generous & kindest person I ever witnessed. You were also the strongest person I ever knew. You weren't just my mother. You were my father and best friend (my sisters will argue that). You were my peace and my calm. You saw me at my very worst and my darkest hours when the World moved on. You were my biggest cheerleader and best life coach after I came back different physically and mentally from my injury at Ground Zero. You believed in me when no one else did. You made me find myself and challenge me and only me. You taught me & you trained me to serve, protect, give and to fight for those less fortunate. So much has transpired the last 20 years and not sure how much you have witnessed. But if you caught it all I pray you are proud. And I hope you forgive me for the times I failed (many) and let you down. Every word you whispered before you left this World is tattooed in my brain and heart, and I will continue to live by those words. We measure time in seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years & decades. But there is nothing to measure the pain, grieve, agony and missing you that consumes me. I will continue the path you directed me on, and along the way I pray I find the peace & calm that continues to elude me. I look forward to sitting down at your grave and reading my book which was dedicated to you for creating who I am today. My soul hurts from missing you so much!

@Magoo72810763 I lost my mom in 1998. My dad in 2006. When I pass my childhood home, it is so different and seems like another lifetime. I know what you mean.

@RubberToeNM They put that on the burgers there now at lotaburger. 🤔😋😋😋 I haven't been home since 1998 most of my siblings are gone but one. Kind of weird to go to your family house and no one's there anymore 🙆🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️😥 except for a stepmother they wanted nothing to do with my dad's kids me.
