The doctrine of sola scriptura was proclaimed & emphasized by Paul in the very first Christian creed: “For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. Then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles. Last of all, as to one untimely born, he appeared also to me.” 1 Corinthians 15:3-8

They are delusional. I asked him for his exegesis of John 20:23. I asked for cross references and a real breakdown of the key words. So far, crickets. The Bible never says Jesus gave the apostles personal power to forgive sins. It says He sent them to preach forgiveness through the gospel. Grown men and women do not understand that a mailman can deliver the pardon. That does not mean he is the governor.

I read the Bible a lot, literaly every day, so it's guaranteed I'll read the entire Bible at least once in a year. Because I do that, It's really easy for me to go through the entire Bible focusing specifically on a certain subject like Catholicism. I've done it several times now, and every time I do catholicism only gets worse. There is no justifying it, none whatsoever. It only becomes more and more clear that Roman Catholicism is satan's counterfeit and the mother of all harlots.

Hey Liar finish the quotes: CCC 2027 No one can merit the initial grace which is at the origin of conversion. Moved by the Holy Spirit, 👉🏼we can merit for ourselves and for others all the graces needed to attain eternal life, 👈🏻 as well as necessary temporal goods. CCC 2010 Since the initiative belongs to God in the order of grace, no one can merit the initial grace of forgiveness and justification, at the beginning of conversion. Moved by the Holy Spirit and by charity, 👉🏼we can then merit for ourselves and for others the graces needed for our sanctification, for the increase of grace and charity, and for the attainment of eternal life. 👈🏻 Even temporal goods like health and friendship can be merited in accordance with God's wisdom. These graces and goods are the object of Christian prayer. Let’s see if you have the courage to join me for open Mic Wednesday, May 27 2:30 PM Pacific standard time.
Bishop@BishopJaxi

This is objectively false and directly contradicted by the Catechism. “Since the initiative belongs to God in the order of grace, no one can merit the initial grace of forgiveness and justification.” (CCC 2010) “No one can merit the grace which is at the origin of conversion.” (CCC 2027) “The grace of Christ is the gratuitous gift that God makes to us of his own life.” (CCC 1999) Catholicism does not teach “save yourself.” It teaches that salvation is entirely initiated by God’s grace through Christ, and that Christians must cooperate with the grace they receive. AND… that cooperation is all by God’s grace. Patrick is a liar, was never Catholic, and has no clue what he is talking about. Yet, charges people hundreds of dollars for people to hear is uneducated opinion. Protestantism is a circus.

Mark 2 makes clarifies: Jesus told the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven you” [Mark 2:5]. The scribes immediately understood the issue and asked, “Who can forgive sins but God alone?” [Mark 2:6–7]. They were right about one thing: forgiveness of sin belongs to God. Jesus did not correct that point. He proved His divine authority by forgiving the man as the Son of God. That is why repentance and confession go straight to God’s throne of grace [Acts 20:21; 1 John 1:9]. The sinner is freed through Christ’s merits and Christ’s mediation, not through a human priest [1 John 2:1]. Peter also says believers are “a royal priesthood” [1 Peter 2:9]. That means every believer has direct access to God through Christ. No separate priestly class is needed to stand between the sinner and the Savior.

Without the lies, Protestantism dies. He tries to cover himself with the word “essentially” because even HE knows he can’t show ANYWHERE that the Catholic Church has ever taught this.

This is false. Catholics say, all the time, their priests can forgive sins.
Joseph Bernard S.@seebs_jbs26

@DrShayPhD And we do not say that men can forgive sins. Only God that can forgive sins. It is through men, by their ministry, which were given by the power of the Holy Spirit, that God grants his forgiveness.

Hebrews 6:9-20 is such an encouragement. After warning against false faith, the writer reassures true believers that God sees the evidence of genuine faith and won’t forget their labor of love. God actually wants believers to have full assurance, not live in constant fear or uncertainty. Abraham is held up as the example because he patiently waited and obtained the promise because God is faithful to keep His word. Our hope isn’t in our performance, but in God’s promise and character. He can’t lie, and because Christ has gone before us as our High Priest, our hope is secure, “an anchor for the soul, firm and steadfast.”
