Our Lego Engineers have been busy building their own creations this week. We've seen towers, houses, bridges, and more! Children from various year groups worked together as their designs came to life. Our Lego club members were eager to showcase their work!

Over the past two days, our Reception explorers have been out and about, discovering the local sights of Woodingdean. With water bottles filled and sun cream applied, both Rashford and Thunberg classes set off for their outdoor adventures, making the most of the sunny weather.

After school today, a team of parents and school staff carried on with our preparation for this Saturday morning's #ChildrensParade2025. Wicker crowns were made, flowered sticks were designed and 'Dawn' was painted. It's always a highlight of the year-we can't wait! #woodingdean

On your marks...get set...BOUNCE! Today's PTFA 'Big Bounce' event has been a whole ton of fun with all our children having a bounce on the PTFA bouncy castle or a space hopper! On your marks...get set...BOUNCE! Thank you to everyone who sponsored our children.

It's the inaugural PTFA 'Sponsored Bounce' this Friday! After our training today, some of our staff team (including Wilfie the Wolf), tested them out. All participants will receive a rather smart wooden medal as modelled by Wilfie: ON YOUR MARKS...GET SET...BOUNCE! #woodingdean

This morning, the PTFA 'Egg-travaganza' competition reached its conclusion and prizes were awarded in assembly. Here are a selection of the entries that our children created. We had an 'EGG-Sheeran', Mr Men and many more! Wishing all families in Woodingdean a wonderful break!

Our Year 6s are having a whale of a time on their three day residential! This morning, they have enjoyed raft building (and getting soaked!), problem solving and the Giant Swing. They certainly built up a good appetite to enjoy their lunch. #rkpswoodingdean #residential2025

Yesterday afternoon, our KS1 choir treated the residents of Ireland Lodge to three magical songs. Our singers enjoyed it as much as the adults! This afternoon, they performed in front of the whole school and their parents/carers. #KS1choir #communityschool #woodingdean

Yesterday morning, our Reception children put their culinary skills to the test as they weighed, mixed and rolled their own chapatis. The traditional Indian flatbread was a hit with our Reception children as they enjoyed the taste of all their efforts! #rkpswoodingdean #cooking

Yesterday evening at the Dome, our RKPS dance troupe truly seized their moment in the spotlight and danced their hearts out! The choreography was immaculate and our children looked great in their vibrant t-shirts, courtesy of Freddie's mum to whom we are very grateful.

his morning, the sun was shining and Spring was in the air as our Y4 Mandela explorers enjoyed their recent Forest School session. Children swung, balanced, dug and developed their woodland tool skills. They built supportive structures for vegetables which will soon be planted!

This term, our two Year 4 classes have enjoyed visiting Roedean School for a variety of enrichment activities. Yesterday, it was the turn of Franklin class to go to Roedean's own farm where they met goats, sheep and chickens! #woodingdean #enrichment

Yesterday, our Year 5 astronomers visited South Downs Planetarium in Chichester. We appear to have many aspiring Tim Peakes who absolutely loved learning all about the universe! One of the highlights was learning about space science in their 'Big Sky Dome'. #woodingdean

Yesterday after school, our girls football team played with positivity and displayed great teamwork as we played Downs Jnr. We lost by the single goal but nearly scored ourselves on a few occasions. We will go into our next match with increased confidence after a strong display.

At RKPS, we place inclusivity at the heart of our school and today, we took part in the FA initiative '#letgirlsplay '. To nobody's surprise, it was a roaring success with the Lionesses of Rudyard stepping onto the hallowed turf to partake in some fun football activities!
