@HPbasketball Playoff basketball is fun at this stage. It will test every team and their resolve at every point. Every fan will find a way to to find discourse but they should find enjoyment cause regardless of pov this is exciting and fun basketball

First to 4 games. The issue is I don’t know how OKC wins the math game without shots at the rim to this degree They shot better from 3, forced 21 turnovers. Not much else you can ask from a team standpoint

Luka is an offensive juggernaut who can light it up on any night scoring, assisting and rebounding to lead his team, Vic is the most dominant defensive player and crazy talented offensively at 7’5. Then SGA on a stretch of crazy efficiency and scoring only second to Jordan. All are deserving of MVP

It's why my brain goes sideways at these posts. Saying Luka Doncic is the third most valuable player in the ENTIRE NBA with how insane Shai and Vic have been should not be some insult, and same for the other guys. Not giving someone the No.1 spot this season is not a horrible oversight.

@HPbasketball Lost in all this arguing and debating is players and teams playing such good basketball. Everyone has such a valid case that it’s not a travesty if someone doesn’t get it

Bad: "Luka leads the league in scoring! Scoring leaders always win! Luka is MVP and anything else is copium!" Good: "Team success is the point of professional sports and SGA has more team success than anyone. Even if the Thunder lose the 1-seed, Shai's minutes and games played provide enough of an edge over Victor." Bad: "How is SGA not the MVP?! Any other argument is a ridiculous made-up media narrative." Good: "Wembanyama's impact is so great that what he does in admittedly fewer minutes outweighs everyone else and we should work towards valuing defense more in this award." Bad: "Oh so you don't care about defense?!?!?" Good: "Defense has historically not been a necessity for MVP qualification, and I feel adhering to precedent is more important than setting a better one." Bad: "Steve Nash won MVPs so Luka Doncic has to!" Good: "Luka Doncic has done the most on the floor of any of the candidates when it comes to production across categories and has a better record than his closest competitor in that facet, Nikola Jokic." Bad: "Luka's team sucks! Everyone else has superteams!" Just make good arguments.

@HPbasketball Swipa even credited Shai after the game too. Some people get caught up in their favorites instead of enjoying great basketball being played but he clearly can enjoy both.

The entire first sgement of this game with SwipaCam is him talking about how great SGA was. youtube.com/watch?v=uUJJMe… It is literally the first five minutes just marveling and crediting SGA. Shai outplayed him, best player on the floor, MVP performance, 10/10 no notes.

@Marcus_Mosher Fans just don’t trust Jerry to pull the trigger on paying FA’s but they should also know he won’t pull the trigger on a trade to move up. If anything they trade back

Sonny Styles is an unbelievable LB prospect. Rare, even. But why draft a LB at No. 5 (or higher) when All-Pro LBs can be signed in FA for just $15M/year in their primes? Why not take a more valuable position like EDGE or OL at that spot instead?

I agree, but by the same token the longer stretches those two play together the growing chances you have to go extremely small to get them some rest. They are rolling with JWill and Kenrich right now.

@Rylan_Stiles I feel this is one of the times you should run k-rich and jwill at the same time when dealing with jokic and Gordon, won’t stop them but need to slow them down somehow

OKC tries to adjust to have Lu Dort on Gordon, which I think given the circumstances of who is available is the preferred option, he right away picks up a foul trying to defend Mr. Nugget. A matchup nightmare for OKC tonight.

I've been very vocal and very transparent about how I feel about the BMF title. It's a JV title. It's a fictitious belt. It's a toy belt. I mean no disrespect whatsoever, but how is this a thing when Ilia Topuria knocked out both of these guys? If this were a normal five-round fight, we would be discussing how dominant Charles was. But under the mirage of this title, there are these weird expectations. It's time to get rid of the thing.
