Ilze Pētersone, an apology: I identifyed the wrong Ilze Pētersone as the lady in the 1988 picture. Same name, different Ilze. This is the "real" Ilze (identified by her son), who was the girl in the 1988 photo. Both ladies are heros to me. And by the way, I was there too. 🇱🇻

Thanks to an upsurge of interest, the angelic lady in the 1988 picture I posted yesterday has been identified as Ilze Pētersone. When the iconic picture was taken Ilze was a student from Jelgava - these days she lives in Saulkrasti and works for "Latvijas Mediji". 🌹
