@evanholloway69 @thepaulwilliams Law 9.11 which covers this specifically is foul play law. And it was clear, so TMO did what you want TMOs to do.

@thepaulwilliams Play or they are asked to review by the ref. At the moment the TMO is basically doing the refs job for them by analysing everything and it's either killing the entertainment or slowing it down for nothing (see Ben Thomas "eye gouge").

We all want attacking rugby. But we also don't want flying Muay Thai knees to the head. 5ft 8 wings jumping into tackles in one thing. Imagine 20 stone locks doing it. There's a reason why jumping into tackles is illegal.

Congrats Gus. Just a shame the usual social media trolls feel the need to pile in unnecessarily once again. Forgetting rugbys core values. Onwards Gus!

"Not straight but no compete" - referee James Doleman at this Irish lineout soon before their opening try against Scotland. This is one of the global law trials in place since January.

@Murray_Kinsella There's surely a silly way to adapt to this law. Put a back in the middle to quickly jump on their own and immediately retreat when the maul is set I don't like it. Promote the ball going straight at all ages. That's the hookers skill. And promote innovation in the maul
