On this day, 25 years ago, Kiyoshi Kurosawa's "Pulse" (2001) was released in Japan. Jun'ichirô Hayashi, the Cinematographer of 'Pulse' (2001) ironically does not like horror films as they scare him too much, and agreed to do this film out of respect for Kiyoshi Kurosawa as a filmmaker. To prepare for the role, Kurosawa tasked him to watch Dario Argento's 'Suspiria' (1977) and observe the film's camera work. He was unable to watch it all the way to the end. [Source: IMDb]
