Can remember which strike but, we spent was it over half a year on strike or something. The strike was called off in October and schools resumed. ABU told us to hold off for a while actually because they didn’t have money to run the school. We resumed in January. I nearly craze.

There was a day in my life a very strange thing happened to me. I was in Level 3 in Jigawa, coming back from school like every other normal day, tired and only thinking about getting home to rest, when I saw a lizard. A very normal harmless looking lizard. Till today, I still don’t understand what came over me in that moment, but I just stopped, picked up a stone, and threw it at the lizard like it did something to me, That was where everything changed—
