Uncomfortable truth. If you bought $GME at $30+ 5 years ago, you purchased a company at an extremely high valuation relative to the fundamentals at the time. There was literally zero fundamental support justifying that those prices were a good entry at the time. You took a gamble at a short squeeze play that was inherently risky. The buy button issue is a separate issue (extremely corrupt move BTW). Regardless of the buy button being removed, it doesn’t change the fact that you entered an investment that had zero fundamental justification. Ryan was smart and made the company healthier by diluting AT HIGH PRICES NOT JUSTIFIED BY FUNDAMENTALS. These actions made $GME able to make the grab at $EBAY today. It allowed them to focus on improving the operating buisness with extreme flexibility. It’s not Ryan or GameStop’s fault that you bought shares at a valuation that had no fundamental support. That is not the case today. We now have fundamental support that finally points to true undervaluation. So “we’ve been waiting 5 years” is a lazy statement. 4 of those years the price was overvalued.
