@KristjanHebert Have you thought of creating a podcast link so that listeners can subscribe and listen through their preferred app? Currently it feels very 2008 on your site.

My list just kept growing... We are not a BTO so we make do with less expensive solutions. Love this little instant hot water heater. Gravity fed by a 1000L tote. Makes end of the day clean up so much faster. #farmshop

Friday am #agtwitter ??? What are your top two expenses on the farm you would cut or reduce if you felt you had no option but to reduce expenses? Maybe reworded. What’s your lowest ROI expense? Someone asked this at lunch with a couple farmers this week & it has me thinking.

@RonKrahn If you are sensitive to flickering lights this will impact you. We noticed flickering even more after upgrading to LED as well. We moved a few fans to mitigate flickering.

Anyone have a big ceiling fan like this in their shop? Any downsides to them? Issues with light flicker due to lights above them?

HR seminar at @CropConnect “27% of the ag workforce expected to retire in Canada by 2029”. That’s over double the natural turnover rate if using 40 years as a career length.

@Rumpus204 @RonKrahn That is a great link. There is a video on there that shows a functioning roundabout, and also highlights the flaws of not making it big enough so that long trucks can stay in their respective lanes . youtu.be/m6fb-_Fot8Q

The MB Highway intersections at 1&5, 1&16, and 1&13 are becoming more dangerous everyday. The Carberry bus accident was a terrible tragedy. The Stars helicopters have been to all these intersections too many times. We know the government cant afford overpasses, so lets build "Kinews Curves" Australian sized traffic circles, where through traffic can maintain reasonable highways speeds of 80kmh. Merging and cross traffic can enter and exit safely. Large farm equipment, long and oversize trucks can safely enter and cross. Lack of safe semi truck parking can be rectified with rest stops in the middle and built at least 500 meters across. If an overpass was to be built in future, the detours are already in place. You will take some heat for this @WabKinew , but like Duffs Ditch, the people who are protected will come to realize Kinews Curves are a good idea. What do you say @MBGovRoads @MBGov @kamblight @TruckingMB @KAP_Manitoba @AMMManitoba @CAAManitoba Can we fast track a plan to save lives during our lifetimes, or increase funding to @STARSambulance

@webfarmer Do they work well with the amount of traffic that is on the #1? Never heard of effectively a high speed traffic circle.

@DtotheIzzoAcres @RonKrahn @MaizeingPete @FCCagriculture Fully agree. Cloud based are always slower, even on a fast connection. Even large companies suffer security breaches and your data is less secure. I prefer a local copy of software. But corps make more money when going subscription model.

@RonKrahn @MaizeingPete @FCCagriculture Accountant says stay away from cloud based. Glitchy. Slower and not as nice software for operating. Just back up frequently with non cloud based. Email the file to yourself even

@Rumpus204 @kendalwpg I've missed that memo I guess. Sunflowers, wheat, canola, flax have been dried because of my heaters, I find them pretty efficient when setting temp 10 degrees above ambient.

Can anyone educate me on diesel construction heaters? Anything to stay away from? Is there any that are better or easier to get parts for? Looking to buy a 400k BTU diesel fired...lots for sale in AB

@landon707 @kendalwpg I thought some buyers specified that product could not dried with diesel fired heaters. What grains are safe to dry with diesel?

@kendalwpg We bought 2 on the right from the ag guys in SK. They come with adaptor plates to connect to bin fans. I've dried well over 100k bushels of grain that way. Not ideal but it works. Also handy as a backup heat source.

@NickHorob It is interesting to see that search disruption might come from AI. Google has trended like many monopolistic corps and quality of product has declined as they try to squeeze further for greater shareholder value. Also wondering where quality will trend as AI feeds on itself.

It’s going to be fun to see what happens with Google’s business over the next decade. Google Adsense is often talked about as the best business ever created. It’s a capital-light money printing machine. It’s dominated search for 20+ years. But I find myself using ChatGPT more and more for things I used to search for on Google. While Google is still king for most search queries, the winds are shifting! They face two big challenges: 1 - Adopting a ChatGPT-like interface is almost certain to disrupt the money-printing machine that is Adsense. 2 - AI is able to be leveraged to rapidly produce content that’s optimized for Google’s search algorithm. I find much of this content underwhelming. Google will try to keep improving its algorithm while AI will keep optimizing for those changes. It’s like a runaway train of algorithms fighting each other with the loser being someone looking for real and quality content. And Google. As someone who nerds out on business and financials, it’s going to be fun to watch it play out.

@toddgolly @NickHorob Fair point. I was misunderstanding that water was being introduced via fan. Not just using higher relative humidity. Would the added tonnage offset the energy use?

@Rumpus204 @NickHorob Using fans and moist natural air is legal, adding water is not. It can be done with automated fans but you need the right weather.

I hear mixed reports on using bin automation fans to rehydrate soybeans. I’m curious to hear more first-hand reports. Has anyone on here tried it?
