@RhodeToLove Some people say that this shows a lack of courage in the vision of Dune and maybe that’s why she isn’t in the movie but I also think people are not accounting for how much extra work it would be using a child actress for maybe 2 full scenes.

This Dunesday crap’s gotta die. They think it’s the same as Barbenheimer when the whole appeal of that event was that Barbie and Oppenheimer were targeting different demographics. Plus, Marvel has no hype anymore. P.S - If one of them were to move dates, it’d be Doomsday fyi.

@its_hipolita Thought about this last night watching Dune (1984). The movie ends with Paul making it rain on Arrakis “because he IS the Kwisatz Haderach!!” And I just thought “so the happy ending is everyone is trapped on whatever planet they’re on now?”

I think something that's not getting discussed about Dune is how heartbreaking Arrakis is. The Fremen stockpile water for the terraforming project but they will never be allowed to complete it: water kills the sandworm, which makes the spice which makes space travel possible.

They even poke fun at it when Robin and Marshall fought over a drink name. Robin leaves a long note for Marshall in the women’s bathroom about her absentee father that ends with “if you’re reading this, then someone has walked in and you are now stuck in the women’s bathroom.”

one of my biggest pet peeves when it comes to dialogue is when the characters are extremely self aware and talk like a therapist. "sorry my traumatic daddy issues which caused my bpd sometimes causes me to lash out at those i consider my found family" please im begging u to stop

@martymauser I heard someone argue once that it’s only pronounced “Chah-ney” in the movies because Denis Villenueve would be working with the French pronunciation. But in Lynch’s Dune, they still say “Chah-ney” so idk.
