@Runeslinger

Runeslinger is exactly like Bacchus, except for the wine and revelry - and the farming. Expect tweets related to dogs, dice, games, and imagination~

@PrimevalFantasy What has attracted people are features like the ease of monetization, separating and contacting the paid and unpaid subscribers, the sharing tools, the hosting tools, and the site's focus on helping connect to other substack pages. It gets flak for allowing hate groups to join.

My top bucket list item is to run a campaign that lasts a decade with still-engaged players and an evolving world I know many have already done this and I'm determined to be among y'all!
Kevin Lamb@KevinLamb74

Do you have a "bucket list" gaming experience that you dream of or have already experienced? Mine was getting to play two sessions of D&D with Erol Otus, the man who illustrated the books that made me fall in love with the game in the first place.

@PrimevalFantasy @LibertyForAll19 Well - it's *a* key. It's a *very* effective key for the spectrum of in-character approaches to play, less so for other approaches. Interest, however, is more effective in any approach as it has us focus our attention, and that is the seat of immersion and engagement~

#dungeonsanddragons hidden information is the key to tension and immersive play. This includes Die rolls determining ambush or other variables the PC's wont know.

@PrimevalFantasy In addition to things like Passions in BRP and its lineage of systems, some die pool systems like Ubiquity offer means to increase the pool by spending a resource to it to demonstrate a greater commitment to, focus on, or outrage (etc) over am action. Genesys has the Triumph~

We all know about "hysterical strength", that freak surge of raw power when adrenaline takes over, like the woman who lifted a car to save her trapped son. Do any RPGs model this kind of weird panic boost, or is "Barbarian Rage" as close as you've seen?

I had a #ttrpg chat with Thieves Guild Games about their past, present, and future games, some design considerations which went into them, and the ever-popular notion that "that word we keep using might not mean what we think it means"~ youtu.be/LdqytLSQd9o

GMing online w/ Zoom shows how our RPG 'history' bends instantly. Human memory & the actual Zoom transcripts split fast. Even 1 important word misremembered & it cascades, reshaping how we read all other events, & how PCs proceed thereafter.

@MyEarTrumpet Most of the hobby plays many things, has deep discussions, invents wonders, and never share them on the Internet or beyond their property lines. I liked Unisystem a lot(!), but for a lasting appeal I got carried away by Ubiquity instead. Same vein, different blood type~

I've been avoiding buying or reading new cyberpunk games for like 5 years now, but damn I think I might cave and pick up Blade Runner. Looks gorgeous, and I'm curious about the YZ engine v.2. Anyone play? Worth it?
