I tried to make a Smash 6 roster. Deciding what characters to cut is WAY HARDER than you think.

@Runic_SSB Again, I feel like we don't know enough about Gaster's relationships i general to be able to tell. Like, he is clearly going to have a roll in Detarune, and I feel like anything regarding Sans's relationship with him will be said in later chapters if they are brothers.

@Runic_SSB Probably some prophecy plan and Carol on the phone talks about needing the soul. I see these dark worlds and the Titan fight as testing the soul until it’s ready to take on the Roaring or whatever. Maybe the Knight wants to free themselves from Gaster or something

I hate when people say “the Knight doesn’t want to cause the Roaring cause they already would’ve done so” cause I just think they don’t want to cause the Roaring yet for some expressed purpose, not that they’re against the Roaring happening at all

@SleepySaysStuff But how could Sans be from Deltarune and be brothers with Gaster, who we know is from Undertale because of his current state?

@Runic_SSB Nothing is really stopping Sans Deltarune from becoming very close with Undertale Alphys. Maybe it can even cause them to be closer in ways. Also we know almost nothing about Gaster's relationships in general and whether or how he would interact with people in Deltarune.

@CStickernoodle I think the Angel is Gaster and the Knight is grooming the SOUL to be able to free him. Why do you think the Knight is powering up the SOUL?

@Runic_SSB My theory is similar. The Knight is trying to power up the soul and bring out more of its power. First it could banish dark fountains and in chapter 4 and gained further light abilities to light up dark, beat dark enemies, and kill titans. Though I think the soul is the angel

@Runic_SSB I mean, both of those can still be true with sans being from deltarune, and it gets implied more and more as the chapters go on, but using "sans."'s appearance in the guitar collection as proof isn't really that good of an idea 😭

@SleepySaysStuff People want that to be true so fucking badly for no reason. It's not even being treated as an inevitability, they're like sitting there with a foam finger & painted faces, waving a flag saying "I want skelebros/sciencepeoples to be wrong in favor of something way less compelling"

I find it wild how you can get effectively life in prison for killing a sex offender but a child rapist can get out in like 11 months

In 2020, Nebraska school teacher James Fairbanks noticed his neighbor constantly hanging around and watching kids play from his driveway. Suspicious, Fairbanks decided to check the registered sex offender list. His suspicions were justified: Mattieo Condoluci, 64, twice convicted of child molestation. Fairbanks grabbed a gun, drove to his house, knocked on the door, and shot him seven times when he answered. He then emailed local media and confessed to everything, explaining he acted to prevent further offences. Astonishingly, at sentencing, Condoluci’s very own daughter stood up and defended Fairbanks, saying her father had abused her too and the system had failed for years. Despite this, in 2021, Fairbanks, who had no previous convictions, was sentenced to 40–70 years for second-degree murder with no parole until 2040.

The Smash Bros roster discourse is fascinating, but it also makes me fear for the future of the series. It seems like for every big media franchise, there inevitably comes a point where the next new thing is crushed under the weight of impossible expectations.
