@garybernhardt One failure in a million test runs makes that a flaky test. I say fix it, it's broken.

A test failed in CI. It wanted to see "Your next charge will be on 2022-06-30" but it saw "... on 2022-07-01" and failed. That assertion happened to run at midnight UTC. The page render and assertion were ms apart, but happened on different dates. I guess... everything is fine?

Providing an estimate is more of an act of building trust than a chore of enabling deadlines.

@ctford I think that is (valuable but) not the first class lesson from such things. I think the first class lesson should be that the rarer you deploy, the harder it is to deploy, and the harder it is to fix things. Your point naturally follows. :)

Even if you don't buy the system effects of small frequent deployments, security vulnerabilities like #Log4Shell demonstrate that sooner or later a rarely deployed system becomes a vulnerable system.
