President @edmnangagwa runs a THRIVING FARM & over the years, production has broken records… Visitors from far & near come to observe & learn… Today the visitor was special: President @CyrilRamaphosa of South Africa. Agriculture supports a huge value chain, & in many parts of Africa, blacks are at the lower end of the spectrum as poor paid farm labourers. However, in Zimbabwe, the land reform program produced more than 350 000 black farmers…. over the years, they have grown from being novices to expert farmers… They are still learning, but the production levels have already surpassed the pre-land reform levels… In many ways, Zimbabwe will be a model for land reform in postcolonial Africa….

Who’s this Zimbabwean man always popping up with African presidents like Mnangagwa, William Ruto, Museveni, Hakainde Hichilema, Samia Suluhu Hassan, Cyril Ramaphosa, Peter Mutharika, What exactly is his role that allows him to be consistently seen alongside African Presidents?

@daddyhope they are saying it was a working visit. Can you break it down to grade 7 dropout like me what's the difference between state visit and a working visit?
The Presidency 🇿🇦@PresidencyZA

HE President @CyrilRamaphosa earlier today, undertook a working visit to the Republic of Zimbabwe for an engagement with his Zimbabwean counterpart, HE President Emmerson Mnangangwa, to discuss issues of mutual and bilateral interests. South Africa and Zimbabwe maintain a historical, political and dynamic trade relationship. In 2025, South African exports to Zimbabwe totaled about U$ 4.30 billion, with agricultural products and machinery dominating the majority of traded goods. #BetterAfricaBetterWorld 🌍

The question is what SA stand to gain or lose if Ed extends his term?
Hopewell Chin’ono@daddyhope

Hopes of a military coup against President Emmerson Mnangagwa, led by his vice president, General Constantino Chiwenga and his associates, have reportedly been quashed after sources say that South African President Cyril Ramaphosa assured his Zimbabwean counterpart that South Africa will not countenance any unconstitutional removal of a president in Zimbabwe. Today, President Emmerson Mnangagwa met with Ramaphosa in Harare, where he was received by Mnangagwa alongside businessmen Wicknell Chivayo and Kudakwashe Tagwirei, before the two leaders and the two businessmen flew on a one hour helicopter trip together to Mnangagwa’s farm, Precabe, in Kwekwe. They toured the farm, where the South African president was shown Mnangagwa’s Ankoli cattle and fish breeding pools. When they reached the ostriches, Ramaphosa is said to have remarked, in a pointed and politically loaded statement, that “nothing and nobody will remove my elder brother from power unconstitutionally.” The remark was made in the presence of members of the delegation accompanying the two leaders. “The owner of these ostriches will be president until 2030 if Parliament says so,” Ramaphosa is further reported to have said, reinforcing his assurance to Mnangagwa and those present. The two leaders then went into a four-hour closed-door meeting, where they were joined by Tagwirei and Chivayo. The meeting was described as highly personal and private, with even the president’s spokesperson, George Charamba, excluded from the delegation for today’s visit. Sources familiar with the discussions say Ramaphosa made it clear that South Africa would neither support nor recognise a military coup against Mnangagwa. Those within Mnangagwa’s inner circle were reportedly buoyant after the engagement, interpreting Ramaphosa’s position as a significant reinforcement of regional backing. They believe that, with South Africa’s stance now aligned with that of countries such as Tanzania, Mozambique, Zambia, and, more recently, Botswana, where Chivayo travelled in recent days, Mnangagwa has effectively strengthened his position and insulated his presidency within the region against any potential coup attempt. What was significant today is that South African President Cyril Ramaphosa’s trip to Zimbabwe, which I broke last night, was not an official bilateral state engagement conducted at the level of heads of state. It was a private trip, and sources in Pretoria say that many people in the president’s office, and indeed within DIRCO, the foreign affairs department of South Africa, were not aware of it. President Cyril Ramaphosa is now back in South Africa after the short visit to Zimbabwe.

Good afternoon citizens. Its me again on the issue of the homeless and mentally unwell lady in Bulawayo CBD who has a hand that is rotting away. The Ministry of public service, labour and social welfare promised to assist but a week later they haven't done anything. So I'm proposing that let's assist her ourselves because clearly our government is not bothered. We can not allow this lady to be amputated on our watch. Remember that this Ministry is a reflection of the government organs as a whole. And they are trying to extend power to 2030 via Constitution Ammendment Bill number 3. What's there to extend if you are failing such a simple task in less than 48 hours? What are you doing in those offices? How are you using those expensive vehicles that we always see gallivanting up and down in the CBD? You have failed this woman in dire straits. Shame on you. So to any well-wishers or doctors or any organisation watching this, if you are able to assist in any way my dm is open. Let's try to get her the funds needed so that we save a life. My DM is open. God bless 🙏

"If President Mnangagwa wants 2 years to complete his so-called projects, we grant him. He has 2 years remaining in his current term until 2028. We advise him to work 24 hrs a day so that he can accomplish his goals in the remaining two years. No term extension," @Hon_Kasukuwere

The conspiracy theory that the shooting was staged has now entered mainstream media. What are your thoughts? Interestingly, Donald Trump is the king of conspiracy theories.

#ShantyTownShangani Drove through Shangani, that small outpost about 100km along the highway from Bulawayo, and I won’t lie, it left me uneasy. What should be a quiet stopover is slowly slipping into a shanty sprawl, the kind you associate with South Africa’s informal settlements. You can see it happening in real time, structures going up with no planning, no services, no sense that anyone is stepping in to manage it. If this continues unchecked, it’s not hard to imagine it heading down the same path as places like Kibera in Kenya .That’s not a road Zimbabwe should be walking. And you don’t even need to stretch your imagination to see the risks. Sanitation looks shaky, infrastructure is thin, and that’s exactly the kind of environment where disease thrives. Cholera doesn’t need an invitation. What really struck me though, almost jarringly, is that right next to these shanties there’s a new housing development taking shape, proper homes, structured, planned. Two completely different futures sitting side by side. Shangani has history, it has identity, and it sits in territory tied to the legend JR Goddard, “Jabula Kupela.” With the right attention, this place could easily be cleaned up and turned into a tidy, welcoming stopover. It wouldn’t take much, just intent, coordination, and a bit of pride in the place.

🧠 Opinion: Zimbabwe’s opposition didn’t collapse overnight — it was hollowed out In a sharp analysis, commentator Freeman Chari argues that the struggle lost its soul long before it lost elections. According to Chari: ⚠️ Genuine cadres were pushed out ⚠️ Opportunists filled the gap ⚠️ Ideology gave way to survival politics By the time the Citizens Coalition for Change emerged, the foundation was already weak — built on supporters, not structures… emotion, not strategy. 💬 The result? A movement that couldn’t defend itself when tested. 👉 Did the opposition fail — or abandon what once made it strong? #Opinion #Zimbabwe #CCC #Politics #FreemanChari #PoliticalAnalysis #NOTO2030 nehandaradio.com/2026/04/16/how…
