There has been mix messaging out of the Club on the coach meet. Now isn’t the time or place to discuss that at length. Nor is that helpful. All power to those who want to go ahead with it, as the players will be arriving by coach. However, we’ll turn our attention to driving the atmosphere in the concourse and stands before the game. Apologies for saying the manager asked for the fans to welcome the coach, I now do not believe that to be the case. I’ve also spoken to many fans and fan groups and I’ve not found a single one that thinks it’s a good idea. As a result, the United Kingdom of ROTS won’t be supporting it. Get down the pub early, enjoy the sun, and then get to your seat 30 minutes early, we’ve asked the club to at least turn the music down from 15:30 and off from 15:45. We also feel the club has not been entirely straight with those organising this. It appears they have effectively encouraged fans to organise something the non-football side of the club wanted to happen, while avoiding having to manage it directly or take responsibility for any fan safety or operational liability themselves, instead hiding behind their favourite phrase: “fan-led”. This is not fan led, the club designed and club funded tifo v Leeds was not “fan led” Give the fans a platform, stop using the fans to deliver the marketing teams next “atmosphere activation”. Even at the death of this horrendous season it feels like the club is cosplaying as a football club, none of this would happen at a club that put football first, always, or understood how to be a football club. Focus on the team, focus on the in stadium noise, focus on keeping us in the fucking league. Up the Spurs.
