If you can show me an sort of literature that this will create more trauma, specifically in a 3 year old, I’d be fascinated to read that. I do hope Erika has more candidate conversations with her soon, and maybe she has, but I have never seen something supporting what you’re saying, especially in the immediate aftermath of tragedy for toddlers specifically
English

@RuralMedicMama @l_white_rekords @ThePatriotOasis Age appropriate, yes. But that's not what this is. They do not understand where their dad is and implying that he's just on a trip will only create more trauma.
English

🚨BREAKING: Erika Kirk reveals that her children are still asking, "Where is their daddy?"
JESSE: "You told your children that Charlie was going on a work trip with Jesus. Are they still asking where Daddy is?"
ERIKA: "Yes, my daughter continues to ask. I told her the other day because she said, 'I missed daddy and where's daddy and one is he coming home.' I said Daddy is still with Jesus, and I said they are so busy. If you ever want to talk to Daddy, look up to the sky and start talking to him; he can hear you!"

My view is that if you can’t afford your own food but turn up your nose at what is offered to you for free, you’re simply not hungry enough.
Over the years, I have fed many starving street cats. They are often nothing but skin and bones, surviving off whatever they can scavenge from the trash or whatever parasite-ridden rodents they can catch. They are exceptionally grateful for a plate of cheap kibble. Even the three street cats that have stayed with me for years still act like they can’t believe their good fortune every time I give them food, because they’ve known genuine hunger and starvation.
You know who isn’t grateful for his food and who is an overweight picky eater? My indoor cat who has lived an incredibly privilege life and is spoiled beyond belief. If he doesn’t like what is served, he whines and complains. He’s never known the fear and pain of legitimate starvation and he feels entitled to his flat iron steaks.

I'm about to be radicalized about ya'll using food pantries next.. "A f*cking joke" Ma'am I missed where you said thank you.
English

@abloodycrow @l_white_rekords @ThePatriotOasis I would agree with that for any other age of child, but 2-3 years old has a lot of room for slow conversations and age appropriate stories
English

@RuralMedicMama @l_white_rekords @ThePatriotOasis It's not. It's unfortunate, but when you have kids you have to prioritize their mental health and explaining it in a way that implies he's coming home one day is going to add to the trauma.
English

They are a religious family. Telling her her father is with Jesus is not a euphemism. Erika is creating the framework to explain death from the family’s worldview. Also, toddlers have very poor concepts of time and permanence and it is completely appropriate for Erika to take some time to grieve before begin that for her children.
English

@RuralMedicMama @l_white_rekords @ThePatriotOasis That's not true. Using euphemisms at any age is questionable but at an age where they don't understand metaphor, it adds to the trauma by confusing them. Using that explanation for a pet might be fine. But not for their dad who's never coming home.
English

@RuralMedicMama @l_white_rekords @ThePatriotOasis Please don't use terms like developmentally appropriate when you have no idea what you're talking about
English

-Raise adults, not perpetual children
-Don’t allow your entire identity to become wrapped up in motherhood and how your children fulfill you, continue to have your own social circles, interests, and endeavors.
-don’t let your children fill the emotional role of a spouse
-stop generational cycles and genuinely heal from your own trauma and daddy/mommy issues.
-have a healthy marriage.
Women who have truly meaningful lives beyond only motherhood don’t tend to be monster MILs.
English

-sure, some men can’t afford homes, yet Gen Z homeownership rates are on par or higher than Gen X at the same age. savvy people will always figure it out, like my husband has.
-debt is a choice that can almost always be avoided.
-some jobs, maybe. There’s always other options and self employment.
-again, you don’t have to work for woke companies if you don’t want to.
Nick often points out real issues and struggles, then comes up with the most ridiculous causes, excuses, and solutions to those issues. The economy and job market sucks for everyone, we’re in a silent depression. My great grandparents picked themselves up and rebuilt through the Great Depression, while Nick whines and blackpills behind a camera. Low T behavior

Never met my great grandfathers, but one of my great grandmother lived until 98 and died a couple years ago.
This is the important part of having children young that no one talks about. My mom and I each had our first baby in our very early 20’s, if my kids do the same, my mom will be a great grandmother in her 60’s, meaning she could easily live to meet her great-great grandkids. I think that’s really cool
English

@marshallpriddy @agreatdayinnc Exactly. This is the common use of it now and has been for awhile.
English

It's like saying something sucks. It's so far divorced from its origin that someone using the expression doesn't get anywhere near the sexual connotation.
Raw-dogging just makes me think of someone on a plane for 17 hours without a book, phone, or tablet, since that's the first I heard the term used outside of a sexual context. As a younger Gen Xer, yes, I know the sexual origins, but since that was never a scene I was in, I'd only heard it in that context a few times total.

Today I found out about my husband’s grandfather’s funeral from a day old Facebook post. No one thought to tell him.
He lost his other grandpa this summer and found out from his stepdad, who dropped, “oh forgot to tell you, your grandpa is dead” over their lunch break.
It is so hard for me to wrap my head around the dynamics of his family.

English

@saiyar @agreatdayinnc “Bunch of retard”
It’s slang, bud. It’s generational and ever-evolving
English

@RuralMedicMama @agreatdayinnc ???? Do you idiots not even bother to listen or look at the words you use? It literally makes no sense except in a sexual way. Bunch of retard Jesus Christ
