“Trust us ladies, every man secretly despises you during sex” is such a fascinating ideology because it requires believing women are simultaneously too stupid to understand our own relationships, too delusional to recognize disrespect, and too emotionally fragile to survive intimacy without a self appointed trauma translator explaining male thoughts to us. It’s also funny how this worldview strips women of all agency while pretending to be liberation. Apparently women can become surgeons, lawyers, pilots, and world leaders, but the second we willingly enjoy sex with a man we suddenly need a radfem mind reader to inform us that actually we’re being spiritually degraded in ways only she can detect. Some of you have built an entire personality around projecting your own bitterness onto every other woman on earth and calling it political consciousness.

@FlorioGina Ozempic decreases appetite and helps relieve ‘food noise’ for people with real issues. Generally it cuts very overweight people calories down to a normal level. People getting Mindy like results are also working out and eating really well which is easier bc of the medication.

Most of Mindy Kaling's early career was full of punchlines and witty comebacks about how she would never lose weight because she was content with her curves and disinterested in conforming to the unfair beauty standards. Now she says she achieved her drastic weight loss by "food moderation," hiking, and strength training. The fat celebs and influencers only hid behind the battle cry of body positivity in the past because they couldn't conform to the beauty standards. But now that Ozempic is here, they can and so they do. Good for her, she looks great. But let's not pretend this is due to hiking.

Blue Heron is a wonderful movie. I never post but anyone who has ever struggled with mental illness or had a loved one struggle should see it. I’m sure it will be streaming after its art house run.

@SophyRomvari Just got out of the theater. What a wonderful movie. So compassionate and understanding. Like Aftersun and The Quiet Girl I will be badgering all my friends, even the non art house ones, to be seeing it. Anyone who has dealt with problems like this will relate.

Decided to look at some interviews with Charlotte Wells around the time Aftersun was released as I assumed she was asked similar questions and but of course, this resonates deeply:
