As punishment for my factual journalism, I was subjected to political harassment by the Trump administration upon my return from Iran. This Israeli-influenced criminal cartel is clearly threatened by my reporting from Tehran, where I showed the massive crowds of mourners and ferocious public backlash to the assassination of [Ayatollah Ali] Khamenei, exposed US and Israeli war crimes against civilians from the ground, and conducted candid interviews with officials, negotiators and influential Iranians. The seizure of my devices was a clear act of intimidation aimed at deterring me and others from doing further critical reporting from Iran, which is likely why my interrogators from CPB demanded to know if I would be returning to Tehran to report any time soon.

I’m saddened to hear of the passing of Earth’s nemesis, Thanos. While we were often on opposing sides of humanity, for example I thought we shouldn’t arbitrarily eliminate half the population, I respected his commitment to fitness and great taste in jewelry.

I kind of love this for you. You show up on a page dedicated to the proposition that left-identifying people who aren’t sufficiently indoctrinated with idpol, aren’t real leftists, with an anti-trans rant. IN SUPPORT! And this loser has no idea what to do with it, because the other commenters just agree with the POV of the clip straight out. Stay golden pony boy. You’re a rock star.

@russelldobular was one of the Bernie Bros who was part of the Rainbow Droogs that chased women out of political representation, for rejecting transgender ideology. He was totally fine with the violent threats of rape and murder back then, why would he he suddenly in his old age stop being a misogynist? @thatkeaton is just as bad, believes The Blue Fairy really can make Buffalo Bill into a real girl if he wears the right womans skin.

Imagine you go into business with the world’s most famous and prolific assassin. You spend 8 years building a massive business using his money. Very useful business to him too. Then he starts doing things you don’t really love and you make some comments on it, you start to argue a bit. Then you text him and say, I don’t like where this is going, you leave me no choice but to leave the pro-you cause. A couple days later you’re assassinated. This is the Charlie Kirk assassination.

Because the immigrants saved up and moved to the burbs. Also, redlining encouraged people to move out of ethnic urban enclaves like Little Italy where interest rates were higher and credit difficult to get. It was social engineering by the federal government that actually targeted those neighborhoods for discrimination while favoring the suburbs.

A lot of people have been asking for my take on the Little Italy thing so here goes: you have less Italians in Little Italy today than you’d find in Calcutta. There are no Italian immigrants (literally zero), and even their descendants fled to the Island long ago. It’s a three block strip of restaurants for the tourists. If you want to meet real immigrants, you’ll need to cross Canal and head to Chinatown. One more manufactured outrage for people who don’t live in NYC to distract themselves with while their shitty lives get shittier under this administration.

People defend capitalism because they confuse it with commerce. They believe “capitalism” is when people start businesses and sell things. If people understood that the thing they call capitalism and love so much is actually just commerce and that it’s not the same thing as capitalism, they would feel very different. This is because a local baker selling bread, a mechanic fixing cars, or an artisan selling wares on a digital storefront is a sign of commerce in a market economy, which is simply a mechanism for exchanging goods and services based on supply and demand. Needless to say, this has existed for thousands of years before capitalism was created. As economic historian Fernand Braudel pointed out, commerce and capitalism are not only distinct; but historically, they have often operated at cross-purposes. According to Braudel, ordinary commerce is competitive and transparent, while capitalism is anti-competitive and deliberately opaque, making it a zone of privilege held by a small elite who bend the rules in their favour. Braudel further argues that commerce, or the market, is horizontal, transparent, and competitive and as old as civilization itself. It involves individuals or small groups trading goods, where barriers to entry are low, no single player dominates, and profit is a reward for fulfilling a specific need. Capitalism, meanwhile, is a specific institutional arrangement that emerged relatively recently in human history, around the 16th to 17th centuries. It is NOT just people “trading stuff”. It is instead the legal and financial system where the means of production are privately owned, and the primary objective is the continuous, infinite accumulation of capital. Because of this accumulation-obssessed nature of capitalism, when it scales up, it seeks to eliminate the free play of commerce to protect its investments. True market competition is risky for massive capital as it drives prices down and threatens profit margins. Braudel contended that capitalism only begins where commerce ends. It is the zone of high finance and state collusion. Because it operates across vast distances such as the 17th-century spice trade, information takes months to travel, which creates a deliberate lack of transparency. Braudel noted that the great capitalists of the early modern era in Madeira and Venice or the Dutch East India Company, never wanted to compete in a fair, transparent market because competition slices profit margins to the bone. Instead, they secured royal charters, exclusive trading rights, and naval protection. At the same time, the state granted them legal monopolies, effectively outlawing competition. Therefore, capitalism naturally trends toward creating monopolies and securing state interventions like bailouts, subsidies, and regulatory capture to shield itself from the very market forces it claims to champion. In fact, the most important takeaway from Braudel’s analysis is that capitalism is NOT the natural evolution or the highest form of the free market, it is its dark shadow. So, when our lizard overlords use “free market” and “capitalism” interchangeably, they’re deliberately hiding this distinction and using the moral legitimacy of the hard-working, transparent business owner to defend the structural privileges of the protected financial elite and its regulatory capture. If ordinary people could comprehend these distinctions, many self-described “capitalists” would realise they are just pro-commerce, and actually anti-capitalist, because it would be clear that defending “capitalism” means defending the right of a small parasite class to bypass the market entirely.

The “activist league” strikes again. Throughout her political career Kamala Harris put over 1500 people in jail over weed and then laughed about it when she was asked if she ever smoked weed. Kept people in prison longer than their sentence to use them as, what essentially amounts to, slave labor. Blocked evidence that would exonerate people. She championed an insanely strict truancy policy that held parents criminally liable for student’s absences. Something that disproportionately impacted low-income and minority families. She supported 2008 policy that reported arrested undocumented juveniles to ICE. She refused to prosecute Steve Mnuchin despite her office finding thousands of instances of criminality. Conveniently, she was also the only Democrat he donated to. She completely circumvented the primary process when she decided to run to replace Biden. No primaries were held. No votes were cast. Zero democracy took place. She was anointed despite being deeply unpopular. She refused to support an arms embargo on Israel even as they were committing genocide. She also said “I have my entire career and life supported Israel and the Israeli people". She has flip flopped on numerous key issues including gun laws, healthcare, and environmental issues like fracking. She supported a cross party immigration bill that would’ve given hundreds of millions of dollars to support trumps border wall. It also would have fast-tracked decisions on asylum cases, limited humanitarian parole, and expanded the authority to deport migrants. And let’s not forget that for at least three years she was uniquely and intimately aware of what we could all see. Joe Biden was entirely unwell and unfit. And yet she lied to the people over and over and over again to cover it up. And this is just the shit I remember off the top of my head. I repeat, I have never in my life seen more hollow, meaningless, shallow “activism” than that which comes out of the WNBA. It’s activism of convenience. It’s empty. It’s thoughtless. And it’s willing to turn its head and ignore truly vile shit so long as you throw a wink and a nod to the virtue signaling they hold most dear.

@russelldobular Apparently he added four neighborhoods to a map Adams made? One of which was Little Palestine. That’s what this is about. He also added Little Odessa. Pretty clear he was here aiming at elevating two groups he believes to be oppressed (i.e., Ukrainians and Palestinians).

Trump's war on Iran was a terrible idea, says Adam Smith, after co-sponsoring the bill in December last year to give Trump over $906 billion for the wars this year, including on Iran. Smith is still supporting the genocide in Gaza and co-sponsored another bill in June for a trillion new dollars for war. It's time to throw Adam Smith out of office. My antiwar socialist campaign is the strongest-ever challenge, by far, to Adam Smith in his 29-year career. Help my campaign GET OUT THE VOTE for the August 4th primary election at kshamasawant.org We need to be one of the top two vote getters in the primary to be able to go head-to-head against Adam Smith in the November general election.

When we settled into NYC as immigrants, the vast majority of Italian American New Yorkers fearfully fled our areas in mass racial panic called white flight. Abandoning New York City for majority white suburbs in Northern NJ, Westchester, Rockland and Long Island. None of which are in New York City. And, given how long ago their immigration was, none would qualify as an immigrant today. So stop with this manufactured crisis and fuck Christopher Columbus.
