I like how your last post before this one was about 14 inches of snow. Who says the icebox doesn't thaw out once in a while.

@bobmaxon Real slick in NW CT Hills. Most roads treated & ok, but decks, sidewalks, driveways are bad. Flipping between fz. rain & snow in Norfolk since 8am. Only 0.15” melted precip, but 0.1” ice accretion on flats. 32 deg. @NWSAlbany @DHTheWeatherNut @NorfolkPIO1

**Be Weather Aware** Even though temperatures are creeping above freezing, lots of cold surfaces means sneaky ice this morning. Anywhere above or north of the red line can be slick. A few more AM showers and then rising temperatures this afternoon. Thaw is on it's way.

@ryanhanrahan Going with 2.7”, 0.15” melted for Norfolk 2SW NWS Coop Station. That’s 18:1. Extremely difficult to get good snowfall measurement due to wind/drifting. Took multiple measurements for depth. About same in Colebrook. Happy Snowy & Cold New Year.

❄️The snow that fell last night and this morning is super fluffy. Typically, for every 10” of snow you get about 1” of liquid water. A 10:1 ratio. In this event some towns saw a 20:1 ratio making the snow that fell unusually light and easy to move!

@ryanhanrahan Absolutely whiteout in Norfolk 6:30-7:30pm. 1.2” as of 7:00pm. Could be nearly 1.5” by time it stops @ 8:00. Even saw several flashes of lighting 7:25-7:35pm. @NorfolkPIO1
