Reform is proposing the deportation of 2 million people - including people legally here. "Politically it feels quite clever doesn't it," says Trevor Phillips, and leads a discussion that revolves entirely around whether it is affordable and practical. These are people who sweep our streets, look after disabled people, keep the care sector functioning. People who work incredibly hard and are invariably very badly paid. People who have families, lives, hopes, dreams. Without whom the economy simply wouldn't function. This country has arrived at an appalling place.

That’s right John. Since 1989, no major new reservoir has been built in England by privatised water companies. Indeed, at least 35 reservoirs have been sold off since 2017. Maybe even you can see it’s now time for public ownership? ICYMI that’s not nationalisation.
John Redwood@johnredwood

Net zero advocates say we are running short of water because of changing weather. The main reason is of course the failure to put in new reservoirs to cater for the large increase in population through migration this century. We had plenty of rain last winter.

Today has been the hottest day in May on record with Kew Gardens provisionally reaching 34.8°C - exceeding the previous highest May temperature in the UK by a full 2 degrees Celsius🌡️ This heat would be exceptional in the UK even in mid summer, let alone in May📈

NHS outsourcing is one of the big scandals of our time. But we didn't get here by accident. We got here thanks to corrupt politicians in Labour and the Conservatives turning the State into a golden trough for the private sector. Build capacity into the NHS. End outsourcing.

HOLY CRAP Trump actually accomplished a miracle. Here is what he got out of Iran: - Reduce its stockpile of enriched uranium by about 98% - Limit uranium enrichment to 3.67% purity (far below weapons-grade) - Cut the number of installed centrifuges by roughly two-thirds - Only enrich uranium at one declared site (Natanz) - Stop enrichment activities at Fordow and convert it into a research facility - Redesign the Arak heavy-water reactor so it could not easily produce weapons-grade plutonium - Ship out or dilute excess enriched uranium Allow extensive inspections by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Permit continuous monitoring of nuclear facilities and supply chains - Accept “snap” inspections under expanded monitoring rules - Avoid building new heavy-water reactors for years - Stay within strict limits on uranium stockpile size and centrifuge development for set periods ranging from 10–25 years Ooops, sorry! That was the JCPOA that Obama signed with Iran, only to have him tear it up, kill 140 kids, get hundreds of Americans injured, 13 killed, and gas prices to surge 50%.

UPDATE: After national outrage erupted when the British public realised Dr Eastland Staveley—who said he didn't shoot enough babies—is working at @DHUHealthCare.... DHU are now HIDING THEIR ROTA. Staveley works from home, triaging patients as a GP. If the rota is hidden, no one sees him in person. DHU don't want anyone knowing if he is still actively treating British patients. Instead of an immediate suspension and investigation, a potential war criminal is being PROTECTED. The @gmcuk and @the_mpts have been investigating and suspending anti-genocide and anti-supremacy doctors on behalf of the pro-'israel' lobby while doing nothing about this reprehensible zionist jewish doctor for FOUR months. This is an unavoidable example of the supremacy we have been fired for naming and opposing.
Dr Rahmeh Aladwan@doctor_rahmeh

UPDATE: Dr Eastland Staveley, the zionist jewish GP who said he didn't shoot enough babies is reportedly back working for Leicester out of hours DHU (@DHUHealthCare, @Leic_hospital). Meanwhile, myself and other doctors are suspended by @gmcuk for opposing genocide & supremacism.

THE WATER RIP-OFF IS NOT ADDING UP. Barry Gardiner MP has exposed the great trick at the heart of Labour’s position on water. Environment Secretary Emma Reynolds says bringing water back into public ownership would cost an “enormous amount of money”. But when challenged, her department’s own response admitted it has not assessed the cost of continuing with privatisation against the cost of public ownership. Read that again. The Government insists public ownership is too expensive, while refusing to do the maths needed to prove it. Water is a natural monopoly. People cannot shop around for a better pipe to their home. Yet billpayers are trapped in a system where their money must cover not only clean water, functioning infrastructure and sewage treatment, but the financial interests of private owners, creditors and shareholders. Public ownership is not some wild luxury. It is common sense. Remove the need to extract profit from an essential service and put billpayers’ money back into pipes, reservoirs, sewage works and lower bills. The question is no longer whether the privatised water model has failed. We can see and smell that failure in our rivers and on our beaches. The question is why a Labour Government is defending it without even calculating the public alternative. Come clean, Secretary of State. Publish the full comparison. Let the public see who this broken system is really serving. Labour Heartlands #LabourParty #PublicOwnership

Israel just committed another horrific massacre in South Lebanon. Dropping bombs on residential homes in Sir El Gharbiyeh. Families buried under rubble. Civilians slaughtered in their own homes. This is mass murder.

HE KNEW THE DOSSIER WAS FAKE. WEEKS LATER HE WAS DEAD IN A FIELD Dr David Kelly was Britain's foremost weapons inspector. He spent years inspecting Iraqi facilities, earned a Nobel Peace Prize nomination, and knew more about Saddam's arsenal than almost anyone in government. In 2002, Tony Blair's government published a dossier claiming Iraq could deploy chemical and biological weapons within 45 minutes. Britain went to war on the back of it. No weapons were ever found. Kelly knew the dossier was rubbish. He said so, quietly, to a @BBC journalist. That conversation ended his career, his privacy, and ultimately his life. The MOD carefully allowed his name to leak to the press as the BBC's source. He was then hauled before parliamentary committees, stripped apart by his own employer, and thrown to a media frenzy he never asked for. Two days after giving evidence to MPs, the 59-year-old was found dead in woodland near his Oxfordshire home. Instead of a proper inquest, Tony Blair asked Lord Hutton to run a private inquiry. Hutton concluded suicide. The inquest was opened, then suspended, and never resumed. Eight senior legal and medical figures, including a coroner, later wrote to @thetimes saying the verdict was unsafe. They argued the wound found on Kelly's wrist, a severed ulnar artery, would not have caused sufficient blood loss to kill a healthy person. There were no fingerprints on the knife found beside his body, even though he was not wearing gloves. In 2011, Attorney General Dominic Grieve rejected all calls for a new inquest. He said the Hutton Inquiry was "tantamount to an inquest" and that further investigation would be dismissed by judges with irritation. A man challenged the government's justification for a war that killed hundreds of thousands of people. He was publicly destroyed, died in mysterious circumstances, never got a proper inquest, and the people who sent him into that media storm faced no consequences whatsoever. Tony Blair became a Middle East Peace Envoy the following year. You genuinely could not make it up. Sources: @BBCNews, openDemocracy, Hansard, @thetimes | Hutton Report

This research by Queen Mary University of London should be a wake up call for the UK government and judicial institutions: 286 political prisoners in Britain, held in relation to their activism for Palestinian rights or against fossil fuel. Prison sentences for acts of direct action or civil disobedience (which were once rare) are now being imposed with increasing length and frequency. In Great Britain. theguardian.com/law/2026/may/2…

This is called a stress position. This is not yoga. Try it on a cold floor, with your hands zip-tied, and see if you can hold it even for 5 minutes. Now imagine being held that way for hours, and even days. Stress positions are used in torture to cut off circulation and create extreme pain in the joints. Postures of humiliation are chosen where you cannot see what is happening, and have no chance to remain calm, clear, and alert. . Having your kidneys exposed to cold air creates vasoconstriction, high blood pressure, strains the renal system, lowers immunity and causes acute physiological stress. I think of how many people in the world are being tortured right now as I write. I don't have to say this but I will. There are very few people who will put themselves aside to help others. There are only a few who would try (and even try again) to deliver food and medical supplies to Gaza. Both Canada and the US are ratified in the Geneva conventions against torture. In war time or in peace time, torture is not legal. Stop supplying Israel. Stop supporting Israel. Apply sanctions. If we do not stop Israel's use of torture, one thing is clear. We are complicit. We know this. Write your elected officials, and for God's sake, speak up already.

Nesrin experienced a concussion and over 40 bruises at the hands of the iof . A neck brace is standard precautionary protocol for suspected cervical injury. Any competent physician would know this. The fact that she was not permanently paralyzed is not the defense you think it is. Your doctors would understand that if they weren't busy participating in the brutalization of our humanitarian volunteers, journalists and the ongoing torture of Palestinian prisoners.
