@JaneBransby @herdirtytoes @DailyMail @StandingforXX Women in T rarely look threatening to other women. Men, even in frocks, usually do. So, I don’t agree with you.
English

@RuthlessTweets @herdirtytoes @DailyMail @StandingforXX So not the biological sex toilet? That makes a mockery of the ruling. By that measure, a trans woman should use the ladies. And a woman who looks ‘butch’? Where should she go? Do you not see what a complete and utter bollocks this whole thing is?
English

Disabled people 'may have to compete with trans people to use toilets', equalities watchdog warns trib.al/bC4gqu7
English

@NotThatDragonD @DailyMail @StandingforXX I clarified above. The rare exception of a bearded lady does not break the rule.
English

@RuthlessTweets @DailyMail @StandingforXX Apparently you didn't read the guidance. The guidance says that trans men cannot use the men's loo ever and if they look too much like men they can't use the women's either.
And no, it isn't "the law," that's not what his or the SC ruling said.
English

@JaneBransby @herdirtytoes @DailyMail @StandingforXX The Supreme Court considered this exact scenario. According to the Supreme Court, if a woman on T would cause distress to other women because of her appearance, she should use other facilities.
English

@RuthlessTweets @herdirtytoes @DailyMail @StandingforXX So are you happy to have a heavy set, bearded trans man in the ladies? They are biologically female but you won’t know that.
English

@John_Dabell I only had a month of not being able to swallow anything and had to use a tube for all my fluids and nutrition. It was horrible. Despite my medical knowledge, I became dehydrated and ended up in hospital. Stay safe, John ❤️
English

What do you do when you are thirsty? You have a drink, unless you are nil by mouth. Today is the hottest May day on record in the UK, but when you cannot swallow, hydration becomes a logistical exercise instead of a basic human reflex. I cannot just grab a bottle of water or sit in a café and cool down. Every drop of fluid has to be syringed directly into my stomach through a tube and believe me, that is not easy when you are out and about. You need clean hands, clean equipment, time and privacy - somewhere dignified to stop and hydrate without feeling like a medical procedure has hijacked your day in public...and to avoid people staring! People see the sunshine. They do not see the calculations behind survival.
Hot weather for most people means inconvenience but for us nil by mouthers, it can become dangerous very quickly. The reality of head and neck cancer is that even something as basic as quenching thirst is no longer simple.

@sappholives83 Ha ha, yes. I listened to same 5 CDs all the time.
English

@RuthlessTweets Ky grandmother had one, but it was kept in the trunk, so you had to pick out your music ahead of time. Having a player up front that only took one seems better to me
English

@sappholives83 No. I was obviously very deprived!
I did have a CD player in my car that could play 5 different CDs in succession. Does that count?
English

@RuthlessTweets Never? What about a Discman? Oh man, they skipped so badly.
English

@lascapigliata8 Not the same plant, but I’ve seen masses of these growing out of walls on my morning walk.

English

It's crazy how common weeds from our childhood can hold so much emotion. Also, this plant is living its best life in the UK, never seen them that big back home! They grow out of cracks in the walls and are scraggly little things. I planted them densely together, not realising how big they'll get here, and had to move 3 plants elsewhere.

@RuthlessTweets Mother nature really is the best artist, isn't she? 😊

@MinnesotaFan92 @SandyofSuffolk We didn’t have a TV until I was 11. And we never had fast food.
English

@SandyofSuffolk You had color TV and fast food, give me a break. I actually studied in Europe when I was in my teens and there was all of those things.
English

Just so you know.
Boomers didn't have fast food. Except fish and chips.
Boomers didn't have ready meals. Except Vesta beef curry. Look it up.
Boomers didn't have colour TVs, front loading washing machines, central heating or holidays abroad.
Boomers didn't have babymoons or baby showers nor did they go on stag or hen weekends.
Boomers didn't go to restaurants. Except on birthdays.
Boomers didn't have new clothes every year, every season. They made do and mended.
But Boomers had a fabulous time in the 1960s to 1980s because people were friendly, respectful, dignified and hardworking. Boomers also had law and order and a judiciary who punished ALL criminals.
Boomers were happy with their lot.
Yes. I'm a Boomer.
Just so you know.

The wonderful @MShipworth sent me this footage of my 'coming out' at Australia House yesterday.
I was incredibly nervous, but so proud to stand up for sanity in support of @salltweets and

@stellacreasy We won’t forget the women in power who threw their sisters’ rights away. Men have no right to be in women’s spaces. That’s what the law says, and what it has always said.
English

The new EHRC guidance on how to ensure equal rights of all to access basic services falls short of being inclusive or workable in the real world - I will continue to work with other MPs who recognise this to navigate how we change that.
Given how toxic discussion of trans rights has become am not going to respond to comments here because doubt will help anyone.
Posting this video so residents in Walthamstow know of my concerns and actions. Also want to flag to any Walthamstow resident who wants to talk my next open public forum for political debate is on Thursday 28th May at 7pm and all welcome - email my office to rsvp for venue details.

@joshi @ManchesterMill Interesting article. I love @ManchesterMill, by the way. First class journalism.
English

I’ve been writing about Andy Burnham in Manchester for a while. We’ve had a few run-ins but I think he has qualities that many people don’t appreciate and weaknesses that spell trouble.
I wrote this for @ManchesterMill - I hope it’s insightful and fair.

@proudy27 @joshi @ManchesterMill As a non-student, it was very hard to find a bus. And different companies meant a return ticket wasn’t valid on the bus coming back because it was run by a different company. I did notice the bumper to bumper buses on the routes to the universities though 😆
English

@joshi @ManchesterMill ... Queues of buses from different companies so no waits at all, employees trying to usher us on to their company's bus from the halls of residence to the city centre and the campuses, very cheap fares because of the competition. What went wrong?
English

@EilidhCarr Congratulations.🥳
The beach in that photo is glorious.

@LGBTQPrideUK @ripx4nutmeg No, I was rejoicing that I don’t fund them anymore. Goodnight 👋
