@DodgerBlue1958 Or let Rushing or whoever needs some rest bat in the DH. If Ohtani wants to win the CY Young, he should just focus on pitching this year.
@DodgerBlue1958 I want Ohtani to not hit on days he pitch and day after he pitches so he can rest. Let guys like Rushing to bat as many times as possible. Rushing should be hitting 4-5 times a week, not just days Will Smith rests.
Shohei Ohtani has tied Hall of Famer Willie Keeler (1900-1901 seasons) for the third-longest on-base streak in Dodger history at 50 games with his ninth-inning single.
@JeffSpiegel@Bnicklaus7 Can Roki be as an effective starter if he can't come up with a 3rd pitch? Didn't he hurt his arm/shoulder trying to incorporate a slider last year? What other pitches can he throw? Curve? 2 seam?
Angels GM Perry Minasian:
“We made a jump last year. I think we were in the top four or top five in wins from the previous season. We expect to make another jump this year.”
Angels record in 2024: 63-99
Angels record in 2025: 72-90
@FabianArdaya@DodgerBlue1958@JeffPassan If he performs well for a few months, the Cardinals can trade May to a desperate playoff contending team to get promising players.
Dustin May's contract with the St. Louis Cardinals will pay him $12.5 million in 2026 with a $20 million mutual option for 2027, source confirms. @JeffPassan was on it.
My initial thoughts on Kyle Tucker:
1) He is very, very clearly the best option for solving the Dodgers’ biggest need (OF)
2) He is definitely going to get paid dramatically more than he is actually worth
And I don’t know what to do with the fact that both things are true.
Ohtani went to the windup with the bases loaded and struck out Giménez to keep the game scoreless.
Dodgers got lucky it was Bichette running from second base on Clement's single.
