This morning in Doha, President Kagame met with His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani @TamimBinHamad to convey his condolences on the passing of his beloved father, His Highness the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, and to express his solidarity with the people of Qatar during this time of mourning.

My deepest condolences to my brother, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, his family and the people of Qatar on the passing of His Highness the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani will be remembered as a visionary leader who transformed Qatar into the remarkable nation it is today. His legacy of service to his people and commitment to friendship and cooperation among nations will endure for generations. Today on 09 July 2026, Defence Attache in the Embassy of the Republic of Rwanda in Moscow, Col AB Mpagaze visited the Military Educational and Scientific Center of Air Force “Gagarin Air force Academy Voronezh”. The purpose of the visit was strengthening bilateral cooperation in capacity building and follow up on the Rwanda Defence Force students undertaking the professional training in the academy. END

Minister @onduhungirehe concluded his official visit to Israel with a dinner hosted by Saul Singer on behalf of Israel’s MFA. Singer, co-author of Start-Up Nation and The Genius of Israel, has had recent engagements in Rwanda focused on innovation, entrepreneurship and smart mobility. Their discussions underscored the growing Rwanda–Israel partnership and shared ambitions to advance innovation-driven development.

This evening, Minister of State @UstaNcusta received H.E. Jaspal Singh, High Commissioner of Singapore to Rwanda, on a courtesy call. They discussed further strengthening bilateral cooperation and relations between the two countries.

A delegation led by Brig Gen Louis KANOBAYIRE, RDF Chief of Military Training and Education is in New Delhi, India to participate in the second Meeting of the Rwanda - India Joint Defence Cooperation Committee (JDCC). The meeting is aimed at further strengthening the bilateral Defence cooperation in areas of mutual interest, building on the Memorandum of Understanding on Defence Cooperation signed in 2018 and the outcomes of the inaugural JDCC held in Kigali in 2024. The Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) 507 Infantry Brigade has successfully completed a five-month Advanced Infantry Brigade Training (AIBT) at the Combat Training Centre Gabiro in Gatsibo District. The training was designed to enhance the knowledge, skills, and operational capabilities of infantry personnel, enabling them to effectively execute infantry tasks and accomplish RDF missions. The Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) held its fourteenth send-off ceremony on friday at RDF Headquarters in Kimihurura to honour military personnel who have reached retirement age and those whose service contracts have come to an end. Le ministre @onduhungirehe a participé à l’audition pour le poste de Secrétaire générale de l’Organisation internationale de la Francophonie (OIF), tenue à l'occasion de la 47ᵉ session extraordinaire de la CMF. Mme Louise Mushikiwabo, @LMushikiwabo, actuelle Secrétaire générale de l’OIF, est la candidate du Rwanda à un nouveau mandat.

En marge de la 47ᵉ session extraordinaire de la CMF, le ministre @onduhungirehe a rencontré S.E.M. Christopher Skeete, ministre des Relations internationales et de la Francophonie du Québec. Les deux ministres ont échangé sur les moyens de renforcer les relations bilatérales entre le Rwanda et le Québec.

À Paris, le ministre @onduhungirehe a rencontré Mme Éléonore Caroit, @CaroitEleonore, Ministre Déléguée chargée de la Francophonie, des Partenariats internationaux et des Français de l'étranger. Les deux Ministres ont échangé sur les relations entre le Rwanda et la France, ainsi que sur les moyens de renforcer davantage la coopération bilatérale, notamment dans l'espace francophone.
