Fun fact about Sally. Her name is a nickname for the Hebrew Word Sally, which means Princess. Makes sense. Sonic characters do have meaning to their names. Sonic means Fast. Tails has Tails, and his real name Miles Prower sounds like Miles Per Hour. Knuckles has giant knuckles. So Sally meaning Princess makes sense. I'm not sure if it was intentional or not. But if it was, clever. Funny since the character Sara from the OVA was probably intentionally named too. And let's not forget Sega's other Sarah, that being Sarah Bryant from Virtua Fighter. She may not be a Princess, but when it comes to fighting, this lady's a Queen. Still, it's a fun little tidbit. Sally's name suits her. ~MR

@aria4sw What astounds me is that the Apu dude keeps getting work to ruin games to Tv adaptations. A shame too, as Castlevania could have been something truly special for classic monster and anime fans.

the main issue for me is that netflixvania lacks any kind of nuance about religion tbh take the most famous dialogue in castlevania for example, dracula is trying to prove his point that despite everything the way he and god are called and the consequences are not so different

It really feels like two of my favorite franchises have taken a strange turn lately. Both Resident Evil and Sonic had a similar path. In the 90s, they started out well, their old games were classics. Japanese games that found it's appeal with American audiences. By the late 2000s and early 2010s, both franchises struggled a bit and had something of a dark age featuring games that weren't appreciated until years later. Both have had that one late 2010s or early 2020s game that breathed new life into the franchise and could have been a step in the right direction, but still fell off. Now, they're changing for the worst and fans are turning against each other over their opinions. Resident Evil started well with the first four titles. The fifth and sixth ones left a lot to be desired but nowadays I think they're more appreciated because ever since Resident Evil 7 and the Resident Evil 2 Remake, that's when the change occurred. RE7 was trying to bring back that classic horror feel that Village and Requiem attempted to follow up on with newer characters alongside legacy characters. The Remakes complicated things a little. The RE2 Remake was good I will admit. The RE3 Remake was awful. And I know the RE4 Remake has its fans but I consider it part of the problem too. It feels like these Remakes are trying to take over or replace the original canon based on level choices in Requiem, and how any time the RE characters are featured in crossovers, movies or official art, they use the Remake designs as opposed to the original designs. At this point it feels like Capcom is just trying to remake everything and change history. They shouldn't change what made Resident Evil special. It's fine to like The Remakes, but they do not need to take priority over the original. Also, having characters meet in movies rather than the games feels off. Leon and Jill's first team up should have been a game, not a movie. The movies should feel like bonus stuff, and main characters meeting for the first time is too important to be bonus stuff. As for Sonic, the old Adventures Games were beloved. 06 was panned, and games like Unleashed and Black Knight needed time to be appreciated. But those games were the end of an era. Things changed a bit since Forces and were solidified by Frontiers. Sega was trying too hard to be a more unified brand. That's not a bad thing in of itself, but the execution was off. Sega is way too focused on canon to the point that every little thing needs to fit in the Sonic game storyline, even if it's not even in the games. Sonic Prime apparently has to be canon. The IDW Comics apparently have to be canon. It's messing with the franchise. At one point, the other Sonic media like the 90s shows, Archie Comics, the anime and Boom did just fine despite not being game canon. Now Sega is claiming that a Mobile Game like Sonic Rumble needs to be canon. A game where Sonic and friends meet The Smurfs. Is everything in CrossWorlds canon too then? Is Persona canon? Is Yakuza/Like a Dragon Canon? Maybe those two aren't so bad, but I draw the line at SpongeBob being Sonic canon. I'd like to image the DLC isn't canon (or shouldn't be canon in regards to the IDW duo). Sega just needs to focus on having fun, and fun doesn't always need to be canon. If they want Godzilla interacting with Sonic, or Mega Man, Pac-Man, or the IDW characters, do it, but stop worrying about them being canon. It's holding them back. This canon talk is having an unfortunate affect on fans of Archie, Fleetway, Boom and others because since they're "Non-Canon" it means they're worthless. That's not okay. Sega needs to fix this, because being canon won't make something good or interesting. Sometimes it will just drag it down. Long story short, Resident Evil and Sonic changed too much and while change can be good, it still requires delicacy.

i wasn’t going to commission anyone for a video in the first place, so no artist “missed out” on anything. i made the video because ai tools are free and accessible to me. if ai didn’t exist, i simply wouldn’t have made the video at all. it’s not a case of choosing ai over an artist- the alternative was just not making the content. fuckin’ dullards lmao
