@TheTruthFromBen @TheTruthFromBen Seems like you have your facts wrong. The main one being I was never a committee member under Bing Tyus and was not apart of that vote. Stop trying to be a social media hero and get back to doing what you do really well. Managing Baseball games.

I got a real doozy of a true story for all of you academic fraud police, but it’ll take 2-3 minutes of your life to read this, then you can continue on hating/loving me more than you already do. Alex Carballo was the smartest player I ever coached. He was also one of the best teammates, played with enthusiasm, extremely coachable and man what a great heart this kid had. He was a coaches dream in every sense of the word. Ask anyone who ever coached him or played with him and they would tell you EXACTLY the same thing I just wrote. If anyone would describe this young man as anything other than that, it’s just simply a lie. In his junior college career, 2017-2018, he got an A in every single class he took, perfect 4.0 GPA. Oh, and he could REALLY PLAY, he was 1st team all conference for me and started in CF, he hit in the heart of the lineup on a team that was at one point ranked #1 in the country. In Florida, we have a student-athlete award for baseball and every sport, where the criteria was academics/athletic achievement and character. There was a process to submit for this award and he deserved it. If anyone deserved it, this kid deserved it. Here is the process: the head coach submits the player to the state chair, who was Bing Tyus, and then Bing provides the candidates to the four conference chairs in the state who are also head coaches and represent each conference in voting. That year, the coaches were : Kyle Forbes, Marty Smith, Ryan Beckman and the fourth eludes me, but it was a panhandle coach. These four deliberate and decide on merit who would win this award. The conference chair is responsible for providing the members outside their conference an overview of the players they are not as familiar with. The winner was announced at the state championship tournament as Josh Harper, a relief pitcher from Central Florida with no conference accolades. His GPA was a 3.7. This kid isn’t the villain and nothing should be held against him, remember the villain is always Ben Bizier. But so you have a clear look at the comparison: Carballo: 1st team all conference 4.0 CF in middle of conference championship lineup Team captain Amazing human being Harper: 3.7 Relief pitcher Non championship team Probably amazing human being Only 7 people knew this story until now. The 4 coaches in that room that made the conscious decision to screw a kid because they couldn’t stand me, Bing, who always respected me but had no say in the matter, and Alex and I. In an iconic ‘ball don’t lie’ moment, we faced Central Florida in that tournament and beat their brains in… and Josh Harper took the mound (and the L that day) and faced none other than Alex Carballo, who the day before had watched Harper walk up and accept his award in front of the entire state. Alex, with all the class in the world, destroyed a ball about 100 mph straight back through the box and as he came back from rounding 1st base he found me in the dugout, subtly pointed at me as he leaned in towards me and gave the most gangster eye wink you’ve ever seen. Alex never said a word to his teammates about getting screwed over, as a matter of fact, he knew he got screwed over because I was his coach, but we loved each other so much that he ate it for me, on my behalf. And both of us let it be until now, when the truth is told. Sadly for Alex and many of my former players, they missed out on individual awards decided by voting of other coaches because the coaches couldn’t stand me. The awards they didn’t miss on were the championships they won, which had to be earned on the field and they won 6 in 7 years. Alex, you did everything right brother, I guess except you played for me.

Certifications mean little to me now. This one is different. It was a difficult portion of my life. I had tons of self doubt. I pushed through and did what was needed back in 2019 and it helped me get to where I wanted to be. It takes what it takes. Do the work.

Fresh Start 2024 Consider coaching techniques that actually promote learning, not that merely perpetuate the status quo. ▪️Now is a good time to rethink and redesign your approach to session creation and implementation. #TOVO
