@RyanFieldABC Just gives us so much protection now if he walks in free agency and we decide to keep him one more year and not trade him. If we do trade him, then we can get another Top young pitcher for him. Excellent move by Harris

@JimCosta_ Can’t blame them. They should have been in, I agree with Miami being in, but bama over ND with 3 losses and looking really bad in a conference championship, should have never been in. It time we start having consequences losing conference championship games.

@RyanFieldABC It just was set up. McCarthy coming off the IR, homecoming game for him, and playing against his former teammate. Of course too, it was his best game of the season.

@Derick_Hutch A win is a win man.. this team is 7-2 and regardless how it looks, the goal is to win the game. This is Michigan football. It’s never going to look sexy. Sure there is things that need to get better, but this team is 7-2 and everything is still in front of them.

@evanwoodbery What would the tigers record have to be to miss the postseason? Feels like that’s in danger as well.
English

The Tigers (85-69) have now dropped to the No. 3 seed in the playoffs, falling behind the Mariners (85-69).
They lead the Guardians (82-71) by 2 1/2 games in the AL Central.
If the season ended today, the Tigers would host the sixth-seeded Astros (84-70) in the Wild Card Series at Comerica Park.

#RainDelayQuestions this game is official now correct if they decide not to play?
English

@TonyPaul1984 Not going to trade for him. We are going to have to give up way too much. Not worth it for a one year rental player. Goal is to sustain long term success and I’m not giving up Top prospects
English

@jasonbenetti Lopez reminds me a lot of Rich hill the way he pitches. Agreed?

@Derick_Hutch Fans on here acting like this last stretch of 4 or 5 games has been an all season problem for Michigan. You don’t win 22 games on accident. This team obviously has it in them. Just been a bad stretch of consistency.
English

@Derick_Hutch Win is a win.. not saying it was a great performance, but you see those types of game in the big ten all the time. Just thinks it proves Michigan can win any kind of game. Everything is still there for Michigan.
English

@riger1984 I don’t think they are that flawed besides the turnover issues.. they have arguably played there worst stretch of basketball there last 4 games and are 2-2 and still 7-2 in conference play which is not easy in the Big ten. They are talented. This team will be fine come March.

@Section344Lions @LilBoyConnor1 QB isn’t the problem. We had 22 guys on the IR and damn near 4 or 5 of them were pro bowlers, it was bound to catch up to us eventually. Plus, I’m not convinced Johnson and maybe Glenn were 100 percent invested in the game. They knew they where not leaving last year.
English

@LilBoyConnor1 The MVP finalist?
We could do much worse. Plenty of worse rosters with worse QBs have won the Super Bowl.
He played 3 strong playoff games last year. Laid a dud last week. It happens.
So did Lamar — again. 8 years in and Josh Allen still has less playoff success, too.

“Super Bowl windows close quick”
Bills: Playoffs in 7 of last 8 years.
49ers: 7 NFC Championship Game appearances since 2011.
Eagles: Playoffs in 7 of last 8 years. Will have 2 or 3 Super Bowl trips over that time.
Chiefs: 10-straight playoff trips. Will have 4 or 5 Super Bowl trips.
Ravens: 12 playoff appearances the last 17 seasons. 4 AFC Championship appearances & 1 Super Bowl win.
Seahawks (2005-14): Made playoffs in 6 of 9 years. Made Super Bowl twice. Then made playoffs in 6 of next 8 years after this run.
This isn’t even counting the early 2000’s runs by the Brady Patriots & Manning Colts — both which were Super Bowl contenders for over a decade straight. Or the Steelers, who make the playoffs every year and have 3 Super Bowl trips since 2005. Similar situation with the Packers in the 2000’s, too.
The idea the Lions window will be closed in a year or two is silly. Will they win a Super Bowl? Impossible to say. But history overwhelmingly suggests the most likely scenario is Brad Holmes has the Lions in the thick of things for the next 10+ years.
