@MichaelGLFlood @LaurenBeldi counter (and I do study games and masculinity) is that we've found it's more about correlation and not causation. As in, more violent people seem *drawn* to violent video games, but the games themselves do not conclusively cause or incite violence in the average player.

The large academic body of work on this routinely finds little to no evidence that violent video games lead to more violence in real life.
Meanwhile there are plenty of policy recommendations available from excellent VAW researchers 🤷♀️
