Saying a prayer for those out in the cold and for those we’ve lost this past year to homelessness.

Winter Solstice is today! The longest night of the year. It’s also Homeless Persons Memorial Day. As Santa’s sleigh gets its tune up before Xmas comes at us like a freight train, take a moment and be thankful for whatever you’ve got in your life. It’s been a rough Winter already.

#SCOTUS ruled that it is NOT cruel and unusual punishment to fine/imprison someone for sleeping outside. How is going to jail not cruel for sleeping in your car when you have nowhere else to live? Such decisions only perpetuate the chronicity of homelessness.

Today's #SCOTUS decision is inhumane and will make #homelessness worse across the nation. And the brunt of this ruling will fall on unhoused Black, Brown, and Indigenous people. Read our full statement here: nhchc.org/supreme-court-…

Fingers crossed the XWaiver is truly gone! Now comes the important part, inspiring all docs to treat substance use disorder like they treat diabetes, pneumonia, or pregnancy. If you can address the previous three, you can and should prescribe buprenorphine to someone who needs it

Bullet point one clearly states that the newly signed legislation eliminates the #Xwaiver requirement to prescribe bupe and implies that it also removes any cap on number of patients who can be treated by one provider, since this was a stipulation of the waiver.

@NanouTheNomad @miniciamia @road_tosuccess @jhstlouis I think it’s most likely due to more potent fentanyl, increased tolerance/higher daily doses of fentanyl, and polysubstances found within the fentanyl people are using. The first two likely are the culprits for the PW but the third may play a role too…
