Comical levels of Soviet ineptitude: entire factories stripped and looted from German territory sent to places like Donetsk where, lacking proper cranes, storage and transportation, they were tossed from carts and left out and exposed to the elements, rendering them useless.

There has never once been a civilization at any point in history that died from an aging population because it’s a problem that inevitably corrects itself. The population may wax and wane over the centuries, but low birth rates alone have never killed off a civilization.
Meanwhile, countless civilizations have been completely destroyed from unchecked immigration. And they were destroyed because everything you just articulated is actually the inverse of how civilizations form in the first place.
It’s particular peoples that produce particular civilizations. If you mass import a different particular group, then the civilization that original people produced dies.
If you need proof, you can ask the Romans.

The castle was a genuine innovation. The Romans didn’t build castles, for example - private fortification was illegal in most of the empire - and the successor states of the west continued this tradition
Castles emerge in the late Carolingian. They are an expression - or arrogation - by private actors of the use of force within society. They represent a decline, in a sense, of state capacity. Royal governments resisted their spread, unsuccessfully.
The rise of the castle was contingent, not inevitable. But you could not have predicted it from what existed before. It was something new
Be careful when making predictions. History is not so limited as your imagination. This is maybe the real gift of the study of the past. You gain an appreciation for the degree to which things can change

We figured out that dad has a psych med induced neurological injury, and has been suffering from akathisia. It’s been 6 years since any psych medications. Last summer his symptoms started, after a flare up likely induced by mold (CIRS) and stress. It was complicated by pneumonia and associated sepsis a month later. It’s been horrible. Neurological injuries from psych meds are far more common than people know. I made this video to explain what they are and what akathisia is because they’re not talked about enough, they’re misdiagnosed, nearly impossible to treat, and hidden by the pharmaceutical industry. I don’t plan on making another update about my dad, it stresses my family out, and myself, and there’s nothing more to say about it until things get better. I will be jumping up and down about psych med injury awareness from now on as it’s impacted my health as well, and is devastating. Prayers are appreciated still.
