I hope more than anything that we finally get a new Game Awards category for Optimisation or Technical Achievement. It’s such an important thing to have, but instead we’d rather give awards to Hollywood (best adaptation). (No hate to adaptations or The Game Awards)

At the same time, I think the games from this year could benefit from not having GTA VI hogging all the awards, as it could take opportunities away from other games that deserve some recognition as well, but I don’t mind a sweep if the game is just that good, like E33 last year.

So, assuming GTA VI actually launches on November 19th, and The Game Awards nominations cutoff is similar to previous years, does that mean GTA VI won’t be nominated for anything? Not even Player’s Voice? Additionally, would it still qualify for the “Most Anticipated Game” award?

@Pirat_Nation Am I crazy for not seeing government funding as a red flag? Sure, some governments will fund games as propaganda, but in other cases, it’s just a government supporting local businesses (even if the game ends up being something like Mixtape).

Mixtape, the industry plant game accused of review inflation, received A$90,000 in public funding from VicScreen, an agency of the Victorian state government in Australia. Despite its short playtime and flop Steam player count, it has earned widespread high review scores including IGN’s 10/10, along with praise from many journalists and influencers.

Remedy is one of the most underrated developers nowadays, imo. Their games are fun, very weird, and look and play extremely well (even years later). Might actually be one of my favourite dev studios. I hope they never stop making cool, strange games. Emphasis on the “strange.”

@Coinvo Nobody who has ever touched a controller/video game is doubting they’ll break even. Hell, they could probably launch the game at $40 and still break even that week. No one is falling for the $80 scam.

Capcom has made it clear that it will not implement any AI-generated materials into final game content. All creative elements, including art, assets, audio, and in-game features, remain fully human-driven.

@TheGTA6Informer This game has no reason to be $80. As much as I want it to be the best game it can possibly be, I didn’t ask them to spend so much money that they’d have to overcharge to break even, and I sure don’t want to normalise standard edition games costing $80.

A Hungarian Steam fan was pretty mad when his brand-new Steam Controller got mistakenly shipped to the UK instead of his home. After he reached out to support, Valve quickly apologized, explained that the mix-up had hit only a small batch of packages, and rushed to fix the delivery. To make up for the hassle, they let him pick any standard Steam game he wanted. He chose Forza Horizon 6 (worth around 70€) and now he’s a lifelong Valve fan.
