I may be dating myself here but does anyone remember those “History Will Be Made” Playoff Commercials? Well I thought I’d try and make a modern day one. I think it turned out pretty well.

@1VANDEMIDOV @fnveenie @ThePreludeee Bolduc has not scored a goal yet in 2026. Last goal was 29 games ago. Averaging 14 minutes a night over those games. If you can't replace that next year you're doing a bad job as GM.

@fnveenie @ThePreludeee respect bolduc, he's the type of player you'll miss in the bottom 6 if he's not here next season has been stellar playing with evans and dach/texier

The only Quebs on this team that haven't been detrimental this year have been Bolduc, Blais and Danault. That's it. That's the list. The rest of them have actively cost the Habs their playoff guaranteed spot. Especially Montembeault and Carrier. Those two are gone EoS. #gohabsgo

Jake Evans missing the empty net yesterday really overshadowed the shift Lane Hutson had to create the chance in the first place. He was a one man show out there. Shame.

Habs are 1-3 in their last four games. The one win is in OT. In those four games the Habs have zero goals that are not scored or assisted by the top four guys (Suzuki, Caufield, Slafkovsky, Hutson). The depth scoring has completely disappeared in the most important stretch.

@PardonMyRatio Yeah I would agree I think. Kapanen was always gonna come back down to earth and he clearly has. Habs still need another top six forward in this lineup.

@RyanPraught I think we need to try Texier with Nick and Cole again. He deserves it and we need Slaf to save the 2nd line

@PardonMyRatio Habs Aren’t even deploying Demidov as a 2nd liner right now. Demidov had 12 minutes. Evans had 18 and Bolduc had 16. Absurd.

@RyanPraught Habs don't have a legit 2nd line rght now and Demidov is being wasted without Slaf. When Evans is getting the most scoring chances...

Makes the decision to play Demidov so little in a tie game all the more baffling.

First regulation loss for Montreal this season when they got a sv% of at least .900. Offense has gone bone dry at the worst time and back breaking mistakes are piling up. Yikes.

I know you're down a goal, and Hutson can't play all the minutes, but how that wasn't Mike Matheson's last shift of the game I don't understand.

@DrakeMT The Red Wings broadcast had a good look at it. He connected. Might have got some of his stick but he definitely got him on the wrist.

@RyanPraught It looked like he swiped his stick. They didn't show a better angle though, so I can't be sure.

Debrincat gets two cross checks and a gloved punch at Dobson. I'm fine with it, but let's see if that tolerance goes both ways in the final seven minutes here.

Very much a live to fight another day approach from the Habs. Flip it out to centre and defend again. Feels like a Red Wings goal is inevitable with this approach.

None of the other games appear to be going the Habs (or Red Wings for that matter) way. A win is critical tonight to keep pace.

Red Wings broadcast mentioned the Canadiens are 20-3-2 when leading after 40. Honeslty doesn't feel that way. Would be MASSIVE to get to 21-3-2. Especially if they can do it in regulation.

Damphousse is the last Hab to score at least 40 goals in a season. He had exactly 40 goals in an 84 game season. Pacioretty got close to 40 a few times but topped out at 39 in 73 games. Probably has it if he plays all 82. Caufield already has 40, and has 15 games to get 50.

COLE CAUFIELD IS THE FIRST 40 GOAL SCORER FOR THE MONTREAL CANADIENS SINCE 1993-94. THAT ENDS THE LONGEST DROUGHT IN THE NHL.

Looking at probably the biggest Habs-Bruins game in a decade tonight. Massive playoff implications for both these teams.

@RyanPraught I don't think they fire Saint Louis. The answer to a bad defebsive team is not a 20 year old goalie.

The Canadiens have been poor defensively all season and even Jacob Fowler isn’t going to fix that. In the offseason the Canadiens need to take a long look into how to solve this. Because it’s brutal. I’d start by hiring a real defensive coach.
