1. After 24 years i have achieved a sort of landmark- i have published my 1000th peer reviewed publication ➡️ pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/?term=mamas+m&… My first paper was around spinal cord injury, and for the 1000th paper It is fitting that it was: Percutaneous Coronary Intervention in the UK: Recommendations of the British Cardiovascular Intervention Society ➡️ icrjournal.com/articles/percu… I would like to that all the fellows, researchers and collaborators that have enriched my professional life over the past 24 years- without you this would not be possible. I have always tried to be as collaborative as possible. I believe in team science. Over 20 fellows (clinical and non clinical) have been awarded a PhD working with me from all over the globe. I have been incredibly fortunate to work with some brilliant people and for these people to allow me to shape their careers. This is what i learnt of my journey- a 🧵

Really interesting (& challenging) trial in @LancetGastroHep looking at management of malignant bowel obstruction. Probable role for early surgical intervention to improve QoL but MDT #shareddecisionmaking process will still be vital here. Good to have some data for this

Interesting! Palliative care fellowships amongst surgical trainees... never come across it in the UK. Would a short secondment be useful for some 🇬🇧 trainees?
